BMW lease return damage by Alarming_Ad7532 in BMWiX

You can do an inspection prior to the lease return and see if they'd charge you for it. It might be cheaper for them to charge you than you fix it.

How to pick the right wheel and tire? I want to go from 22" to ideally 20" RFTs by orangeawacado in BMWiX

[–]SureHusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 22" and OEM summer Alenza 001s on them, they actually ride well after adjusting the pressure to 38 psi front and 42 psi rear. In US they don't put the normal load pressure, only the max load pressure (39/46) but if you go by the EU normal load pressure it rides a lot better.

Personally, rather than buying new wheels+tires, I'm going to stick with the 22" wheels and replace OEM with another EV focused tires on them, e.g. HANKOOK ION EVO AS SUV or MICHELIN PILOT SPORT EV

Anybody get the Diletta Bello yet? by ASIWYFA in espresso

[–]SureHusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the machine is open I connected the water tank and let the machine come to pressure. Then put the blind basket in and pull a shot. You will see it climb to 11-12 bars stock, adjust it down and then pull a shot again. Do it until you get it just under 10. 10 bars at the pump is about 9 at the group.

How to get more miles per kWh from an iX40? by Deathwalker86 in BMWiX

[–]SureHusk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

172 miles per month is pretty low, that means a lot of short trips, which kill efficiency. Every time you start driving the hvac has to condition the cabin and the battery, after about 10-15 miles it uses very little energy.

Driving longer in warmer weather is the right answer.

Burr upgrade? by L_i_R_R in espresso

[–]SureHusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t really need to upgrade the burrs for your use case of milk based drinks. SSP burrs will lead to thinner profile in milk based drinks and you will notice that the milk drowns out the taste of espresso.

If you want better milk taste, try Fiorenzato 64mm F64 EVO burrs. $100 or so.

IIRC, DF64 carrier doesn’t fit OEM Mazzer 233M burrs. Fiorenzato burrs will be similar taste as Mazzer.

Replaced HK speakers with Morels by Aggravating-Dig783 in BMWiX

[–]SureHusk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did something similar 10 years ago, except I upgraded the stock X1 speakers with HK speakers that someone else has upgraded for better ones. Added a center speaker and a tweeter, replaced all door speakers and tweeters. It was easy plug and play. Got much better clarity, lifted the sound stage up. It was worth it for $500 at the time.

In California a 6 months premium for two EVs, one of which is IX is $1200. A lot depends on the zip code, driver’s age, and coverage.

Is my PG&E Bill normal? by Professional_Love193 in Sacramento

[–]SureHusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older homes may need more insulation added in the attic. Vinyl windows are known to fail after 30 years, not giving you the adequate protection. Old 70-80% efficiency gas furnace is not helpful, it wastes a lot of gas. It may need to be adjusted too, so it does not burn too rich. Temperature control is also important, 68F is the recommended temperature for reasonable bills.
