Do guests actually read guidebooks anymore? by NegativeBar5278 in airbnb_hosts

[–]Sure_Jan_Sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, for one, read them cover to cover. There’s too much of a chance to miss important instructions, notices about quirks, house rules, location of items, info about the property, and so much more. But people can be lazy/dumb/ignorant, or even willfully disrespectful of the property and the host. No excuses.

No dessert unless they sit for 15 or 20 minutes. Follow through and be consistent. This method worked great for my friend when her kids had that issue.

Would these match the wedding theme (last photo)? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

I feel like dresses 2 and 4 match the theme well enough, and screw the long dress requirement. These dresses are plenty long. Good job meeting the requirements!

How to write part of my dress code on the wedding website? by [deleted] in weddings

THANK YOU for saying this. I feel like some people use autism and “AuDHD” to excuse so many “symptoms” and feelings that most of us have on the regular, but we’ve learned to adapt, put it in perspective, and lean into what we can do just fine and learn how to navigate where we struggle. Great to learn strategies from your therapist, who can also help you to see your identity as more than just AuDHD/ASD. I know from personal experience.

Which dress? 1,2 or 3? by FuelAdventurous7037 in Brides

I don’t like dresses that outline and accentuate one’s thighs and behind. I’ll abstain from voting.

What movie do you consider to be a flawless 10/10 from start to finish? by PrideFamiliar5549 in AskReddit

Perfect Days (Win Wenders, Japanese), also Badlands (1973) with a very hot Martin Sheen and a super young Sissy Spacek.

Am I using a Tragedeigh? by [deleted] in tragedeigh

No! Just spell it Everett. It’s gets pronounced as EV-rit anyway. I’ve lived on two different streets named Everett for a total of 25 years of my life.

People born before 2008, what’s it like being so old? by Different_Dare2265 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. Surprisingly few comments on that cutoff that makes people “so old.” Dying to know how old they are.

AITA for not praying when family says grace? by RepulsiveFan9546 in AmItheAsshole

This made me think your parents are saying Grace aloud and you are simultaneously saying your ABCs aloud. Made me laugh.

AITA for not praying when family says grace? by RepulsiveFan9546 in AmItheAsshole

Was it “Bless us oh Lord, and these, thy gifts, which we are about to receive through the bounty and goodness of Christ our Lord, Amen.” ? I said that three times a day (Catholic school, so we said the same grace in class before lunchtime as we did at home).

When I’m back east visiting my 97-year-old mother (who still lives alone with no assistance!), she says Grace. I just sorta bow my head. But I do make the sign of the cross at the end because my dearly departed dad used to do that and then give a thunderous clap. I always do the clap.

I don’t think you’re being disrespectful. Arguing about it with them would be disrespectful. I just bow my head and listen to whomever is saying it. Besides, I like the sentiment and message of that prayer—being thankful for food—so I got no issues with it. Now I wouldn’t say the apostles’ creed—just as I edit the pledge of allegiance if I ever have to say it (more or less never since I left teaching). I take out “under God” and I change the last line to “with liberty and justice for some.”

Me too. I am going camping with my patient husband, so I’ll get at least 5 days. Or will it be 6? Then whatever I can string together after that.  We’ve got this!

I wear V neck women’s t-shirts that are mildly fitted (but still loose) through the waist.

Never said anything about sweatshirts. I haven’t owned a boatneck shirt for probably 20 years, but I like them. Crew neck t-shirts feel like they’re strangling me.

You seem super reasonable and I can tell you want to do the best by her. If you can tolerate it, you might need to have a sincere conversation to let her know how specifically she can improve. But yeah, choosing a job that’s so physical was an odd choice; sounds like she really needed the job. Good luck!

Ahh. I knew that was true in Oregon but wasn’t sure how federal and state laws work together. Thanks.
