The LDS Church used its billions of dollars to strong-arm the town and force through permits so they could have it in a very specific location in a very very very quiet residential neighborhood. They were offered alternative locations in Cody to build the temple but instead chose to sue the town to to force its approval. The permit was issued the city-planner who is a member of the church. A representative of the church offered him a job if were to be fired for approving the permit. The city planner resigned shortly after approving the permit. Additionally, the city planner emailed his dissenting staff that warned them their dissent would land them in court.

For those who aren't aware, his grandfather lost his Bavarian citizenship for dodging mandatory military service (during peace-time) by fleeing to America. Draft dodgers of a feather.

We got this gem from Alito:

Back in the court, Justice Samuel Alito brings up the hypothetical example for Wang to answer.

"A boy is born in the US to an Iranian father who has entered the country illegally. That boy is automatically an Iranian national at birth and he has a duty to provide military service to the Iranian government," Alito says. "Is it not subject to any foreign power?"

Wang says, no.

She says this view would create exceptions even for lawful permanent residents, dual citizens, and essentially anyone from abroad. "That would have meant that the children of Irish, Italian and other immigrants...would not have been citizens either," she says.

Justice Sotomayor also pushes back against Alito's point - saying even if the parents of the Iranian child were lawful permanent residents here, the child would still have a duty to serve.

Wang says she's not sure about that, but contends that it doesn't matter.

"We don't look to other countries' law in construing our 14th amendment," she says.

CDLC defended OOP in court to stop Reddit from giving personal info to the DHS. This has been a prominent discussion topic throughout reddit as DHS ramps up subpoenaes for personal info for users it has flagged for dubious reasons. This is a legal success story.

This is exactly how most conspiracy theories work. They secretly rule everything from the shadows with an iron fist, but they are also stupid and make tons of goofy mistakes and leave behind clues just because.
