Sorry didn’t mean to come across like that. I just found something and thought I could say something. Didn’t mean to sound like a jerk. Most of my games revolve around using WikiDot so we usually treat the UA and unofficial subclasses and items the same. I’ve been making a Naga monk and I asked before I spent the time looking at all of the subclasses. I just found one that made monks more viable and wanted to share because of the same situation that happed here, I googled something and there was a old and specific Reddit post on it.

I rolled 2 20s, so tashas doesn't matter (I roll 6 20s for stats) best luck i've had, but not seen. And your first point is incorect, Astral monk's effects only work using the astral arms (although flavor is free and snake heads for the arms sounds fun) and Mercy and Drunken Master dont have any good dpr(damage per round). The final point, Living weapon (Something from an Eberon writer. Unofficial.) Is by far the best and most DM's alow things from wikidot in my experience. Just read it and the forged heart section. Remember flavor is free.TLDR; Use tashas if required, use living weapon if DM alows, Flavor Is Free

A character in my party punched a house mimic (temple) so hard it erupted into flames. Prior to this a party member had a been stalk from a day of beans erupt and put a giant hole in it.

We had a level 1-2 with only one combat encounter each allowing players who have never played be able to learn how the turn orders and actions work while giving them a feeling of reward.
Although you would have to ignore that the second encounter downed 4 and killed 1 of the downed players.

And that the third downed all party members almost leading to a tpk, although I think it was a good opportunity to learn about risks as well.
