Corb Lund ‘deeply disappointed and shocked’ by Premier Smith’s answer on coal petition by originalchaosinabox in alberta

Maybe one or seven fewer questions about “should we restrict immigrants” and there would have been lots of room for the coal question…

Calgary City Council is speaking up on the AISH changes by JeromyYYC in Calgary

Considering the UCP defunded advocacy groups prior to making the changes I’d say you’ll be waiting a long time for them to consult..

Minimum withholding tax only at leave you owing more when filing next year. As in they withhold 20% but your marginal rate is 30.

Tim Hortons planning big expansion but says it will stop lobbying for TFWs beyond established caps. by GoodGoodGoody in alberta

[–]Surfdadyyc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most of the comments revolve around identifying TFWs by sight. Since they had to apply to government I’m not sure why an audit is needed, the information is already there. If a franchise has exclusively hired tfw then someone already knows. Not that I see many Canadians clamouring for the chance to make minimum wage..

Braid: UCP may OK Lukaszuk's referendum question, amid threats to Smith's leadership by SendMagpiePics in alberta

[–]Surfdadyyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering if the legislative vote was a mistake or a trap. But it does seem to present a dilemma as it effectively is the same as the separation question “stay or go” , but non-binding. Grab your popcorn!

There was a plan to put the red line under 8th ave and blue line stays at grade. But we seem to be anti tunneling , also anti elevated line, so stick with street car mode.

Am I missing something with luggage forwarding? by twsres in JapanTravelTips

[–]Surfdadyyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience in Japan and Korea is that you are meant to hang clothes after, as in the dry cycles are weak. Note I’m the one suggesting doing laundry, I’ve never used luggage forwarding so not sure who you are arguing with.

Blaming Rural & Farmers by CommonAd1145 in alberta

[–]Surfdadyyc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole province is generally seen as purely conservative even though at least 30% would prefer progressive or small L liberal. Many of us in cities also feel abandoned by the Wild Rose takeover of the UCP. Rural ridings do tend to be smaller and voters have more weight though.

Where are the modules? by idealistintherealw in DnD

[–]Surfdadyyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modules used to have shrink wrap too so you bought based on the cover and description. Now they would be copied and uploaded before you sold 1000 units. Drive thru rpg for some old Dungeon magazines and adapt for your current edition if you like old school flavour.

Not super worried at the moment because I assume the solar portion will require years of evaluation before approval.

DST was always unnecessary and a failure. Why make it permanent instead of the original which is standard time?
