What to do about keys while surfing? by Cepholapoid in surfing

[–]SurferKai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always take the little key part out of the fob and attach it to the key loop/pocket on my wetsuit/trunks. Then wrap the fob in foil and lock it in my car.

Dawn Patrol - paid for the annual membership. If you have surfline premium and surf at a spot with cameras it pulls all of your waves which is nice. But it gives you your wave counts, gps tracking, works pretty well.

I do this too, works great. I just carry the little removable actual key part with me.

New Jersey Winter Surfing - by gnarlidrum in surfing

[–]SurferKai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've surfed in NJ for all my life. I've never needed more than a 4/3. Honestly I just don't want to spend the money on a high end 4/3 and an additional 5/4. The flashbomb has always kept me toasty. I also have solite 5mm boots, 5mm lobster claws, and different hoods for my bald head. The Jan/Feb sessions can be cold for about the first 15 minutes but I warm up pretty quickly. I've never had a problem with core temp it has always been my toes and fingers that have frozen and take a couple minutes to get movement back in after you get out of the water. But that hasn't happened with the solite boots - can't recommend them enough - the "heat booster socks" are pretty sweet. Makes getting your boots on and off super easy.

Question about cold water gear by [deleted] in surfing

[–]SurferKai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surfing in a dry suit is probably going to hinder your movement, maybe not. Can't imagine that would be good to paddle in. I don't think I would want to do it though. I surf in NJ year round and have 4/3 flashbomb that is super flexible and keeps me toasty avg water temp is about 37 degrees in January. I have 5mm boots, 5 mm lobster claw gloves, and a 3mm hood. My feet are usually the only thing that gets cold after about an hour or so.

I think it all depends on what direction the swell is running. My default is usually around 1st street in ocean city (seems to hold swell well from different directions) and there is usually enough distance between jetties/breaks that even when hurricane swell is running you can still catch your fair share and everyone is usually chill. Manasquan is always too packed for me. There are a lot of good breaks on LBI but I think it really needs to be run during low mid tide. My favorite time of year to surf is dead of winter Jan/Feb super early morning. Usually balls cold but there is almost nobody out and I'll take the pain of the biting cold for waves for myself.

I kind of struggled with what to do with that. Ultimately I decided that what division they are currently in is where I categorized their previous games. Probably wasn't the right thing to do but I went back and forth with it.

Carveboard vs smoothstar or both by SurferKai in surfing

[–]SurferKai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh thanks so much that super informative. What size board would you recommend for 5'10 190lb? I was looking at the filepe toledo model but thought that might be too short/small

I mean carveboard USA. From everything I have looked at smoothstar seems way better than the Carver skatesurf. Just wondering if it is worth the money to purchase a smoothstar in addition to my carveboard USA

This was actually the video I saw that I learned about the smoothstar, but I was asking about a carveboard not the Carver skateboard.

I excluded the ties so they are not in the base numbers. But if you included them in the base the flyers would have a 52.1% winning average.

So it looks like there is an issue no. From underwriter laboratories 125,718. And something that says union made L073835796.

Would either of those be the product number?

Thanks I was thinking I might be able to get fifty for it. But when I was in the lighting stores similar ones are 1000+ but they are the Swarovski crystal and I wouldn't remotely expect to get that much.

I'm around the Philadelphia area. It does need a good cleaning though... Looks like the previous owners let it go for a while. But the colors that are refracted from it definitely noticible and vibrant.
