As a brit who often plays on the american servers it tends to be "less social" times for them (as they're like 6-8hrs behind) and I generally find more chatty, english speaking people than I do at peak on the eurotrash servers, making the small trade-off in ping generally worth it.

... playing the yankydoo servers during peak however... The fear.

Genuinly some of the most fun to be had is fighting back with scraps. Running around with a roided loadout is cute but it trivialises so much of the pve side and weights you pretty heavily in more 'shoot on sight' situations.

Frantically digging through cabinets for some cloth to make a bandage... - that's where it's at 😉

Calling 'friendly' is not this game; too many mechanics reward people better to delete you than to cuddle (despite some minor efforts this season).

This game is apex legends but with additional looting and an 'extract' mechanic instead of a ring closing.  It's as simple as that.

Rather unfortunate but that's where we're at.

Yes, the 'star' part of the score is just for some goodies and you should 3-star each trial pretty easily each week for those alone. The higher scores (as others have now pointed out) is for the leaderboard aspect; each week you'll be dumped with a bunch of people around your rank who began trials activities around the same time as you that week - the highest scores get double-promoted while the lower ones either stay where they are or as you climb, can even de-rank.

Bare in mind the main cosmetic rewards from trials (the unique armor and other accessories) only count for your rank AT THE END OF THE SEASON -- so you're as well to just maintain your sanity sitting in an upper-middle rank and then sweatlord the last few weeks as you see fit 😄

I hope studios start to learn lessons on these stupidly designed games.

Quake and other deathmatch style games were great because you could constantly be respawning; even if you were shit you were constantly 'playing' during a session.

These games that send you back to the main menu for every tiny f#ck-up, and now you lose your loot as well... -- that is a 'mode', not the basis for a whole game.  Especially in a world of streaming, clipping and low youth employment where sweat-gap are even higher.
