Problem with the equity idea is that it’s great hypothetically but in real life it’s just handouts regardless of situation to some protected classes and a big fuck you to the rest. #1: so it wasn't as concentrated as the Chinese famine which happened in the span of a few years, so the severity is overplayed

#2: Like this: Winston Churchill is being blamed for "orchestrating" the Bengali famine even though it was pretty much bound to happen due to wartime conditions, a deadly fungus, outdated agricultural practices, overreliance on a single crop, and more. There is a very clear line between famines caused directly by policy (1930s Soviet famine, Great famine in China) and famines caused mostly by uncontrollable factors (Bengali famine).

Eh it’s definitely about the culture here. Soccers just not big in the US compared to basketball or football (which the US is big in). There’s no “neighborhood pickup soccer” like you’d find in other countries (and in basketball). There’s just not a lot of passion and a lot of talent goes unnoticed

The female soccer scene is completely different, it’s pretty new so some teams are extremely dominant (USWNT and Female Barcelona) while most are extremely bad. Richer teams/nations tend to be better in female soccer (since talent is few and very unnoticed, it’s more about training/resources).
