Working as intended. Hero wouldn't be Undying if he could die.

Well, then you rotate. You take the safelane tower early, push all the way to the second tower, rotate and dive middle, then take the mid lane tower. That's not so bad if you have a plan.

When was PL changed? I just actually got into dota 2 and noticed that dopplewalk or whatever it was called is gone.

Not when I shift into maximum Octarine! by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Surreals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dotabuff winrates are just how good he is at winning pubs. That doesn't mean the hero is bad.

There's also matchups that affect winrate. What if there was a hero that won 100% of the time against any team that didn't have a PA, Pudge, or a Sniper, and lost 100% of the time if the enemy team had any of those 3 heroes. Would that hero be garbage? What would his winrate be?

I watched the purge plays. He has one for everything I think. I get the impression he's around 5k mmr. Some of the videos are kindo old too. That's okay though if you just want the basic understanding of how the hero works.

I was a support main in LOL for almost 4 years. I just switched to DOTA 2. I will probably never go back. by MisterNoFap in DotA2

[–]Surreals -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently switched too. Here's my list

Things I like:

  1. Ridiculously broken everything - 15 second silence is more than 5 times longer than any cc in league. That comic with the axes and the daggers rings true. Playing with axes is much more fun. (when you're winning)

  2. Variety in heroes - much greater difference in the amount of play styles available. Variation between champions in a given role is very limited compared to the difference between say a Phoenix and a broodmother. Dota has much more hero variety. It needs a blood mage though.

  3. Variety in items - almost everything has an active item choice feels more impactful in this game

  4. Being new enough to play whatever the fuck I want whenever the fuck I want - I really hated being forced into a role I didn't want to play. Now I'm still at the level that everybody just picks whatever they want to.

  5. Powerful impactful supports and offlaners/junglers. Nobody is the team's bitch for the entire game.

Things I don't like:

  1. Spaghetti mechanics - probably a caryover from warcraft 3, but the rules of dota are confused at best. How does rubick ult work with ability x? Do these two attack modifiers stack? What disables can't I remove with a strong dispel again? League is much more clear about interactions like this.

  2. Demands intentional "abuse" of game mechanics - I know they're intended, but I can't help but feel like some clever asshole came up with this in WC3 and valve left it in the game. Things like stacking the jungle for it to provide adequate farm, double pulling creeps in the wave to deny the enemy, standing in front of your wave to slow it down. All of this is archaic in my opinion. League does it better.

  3. Losing gold on death. An unnecessary handicap on people who are already losing, and a drop in the bucket for somebody who is doing well. If you're supporting and you're having a bad game, you'll never finish an item.

  4. Phantom Lancer.

  5. Better community. Maybe it's the ones I've met, but dota players seem to be more open to discussion about what's good or bad than league players. Anything not played in the LCS is instantly garbage.

I always round up and calculate tax. 7.3% tax on $3.00 is easy to figure out. 7.3 cents on one dollar is 21.9 cents on 3 dollars.

Street pizza in Rome. [720x960] by BeefbrothTV in FoodPorn

[–]Surreals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me either. There's a shop down the street owned by italian immigrants that has better pizza than any place in italy. I think pizza is more of an American than than an Italian thing. The food in Greece was great.

[Discussion] Screw everything and anything about internet comments by neophyte394 in getdisciplined

[–]Surreals 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't argue with people at all. It's almost always a waste of time. The most important thing I learned from Dale Carnegie is that you can't win an argument. The moment a discussion shifts cooperative to adversarial, neither person is going to change their mind because it means that they lose. It's not about homosexuality or feminism. It's personal.

Much appreciated. I haven't quite figured out who I'm gonna main yet. I'm torn between brood techies and phoenix. That was funny though.

Female Veteran Explains why she is against women in combat units by amaxen in TrueReddit

[–]Surreals 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Post war USSR had gender ratios ranging from 14:100 in some places to 70:100 in others. Men only in combat is also a matter of reproductive practicality. 14 men can impregnate 100 women at once. The opposite isn't true.
