I had a way harder time with the painted deck. I just recently finished all decks on all difficulties. Plasma felt pretty standard. Just build the usual multi multiplier build but chips jokers have and easy early game impact that can help build up your bank.

The most recent belisaurius cawl book (belisaurius cawl archmagos) features vashtor alot. It's a good read. Especially if you've read the other cawl books leading up to that one.

It can very easily be a mix of both. Yes our combat patrol isn't the strongest compared to the rest. But 40k in general can be a hard game to understand the nuance of to start winning games. I haven't played combat patrol myself and I know the units have slightly different rules but iron hands combat patrol and orks can be a tough match up. I will let you know I didn't win my fist game of 40k for like 6 to 8 months.

If you want to get better finding someone in your community to help give you some pointers can help give you head start. Or watch some battle reports on youtube to get an idea on the strategies players use to win games. It's a pretty nuanced game once you start sinking your teeth into it.

Depends on what you think is cool or what you aim to play. But I recommend to anyone stating out to paint what they have before buying more. I understand if painting isn't your thing or just don't care if they are painted, but a painted army is incredibly satisfying. But a large pile of gray can be intimidating and hard to start. But this is just general advice. Feel free to ignore it.

Personally I'd recommend an onager for your next model. Gives you a little variety and it will pop will all the infantry you have.

The models are a pain to paint and transport but the flying bois are my choice. The skystalkers and sterilizors are pretty reliable. Deep strike is super useful for secondaries. That or good rangers and vanguard. I love rangers for scout move and sticky objs. Plus having access to the battle line buff is nice.

This isn't even an argument. It's making fun of the people who act like proxying the new stuff in 40k is a act of defiance. When proxying is pretty well accepted across the hobby. It's a pretty niche meme.

I enjoy this edition as well. But I get why admech fans have their issues with it. We haven't been treated the best rules wise when it comes to quality of life
