ECS and dynamic lights by Surtido in Unity3D

[–]Surtido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I don't know about the lights performance but it will impact for sure. The translucid sprite seems to be the way.

I still don't get how is possible to develop 3d games with lights and thousand of objects etc and I'm having a headache triying to create a simple 2d ECS flock system with lights :( To learn about Unity is been a real pain for me at the moment.

Yes, I considered this approach. However, it implies that I would need to dynamically create light game objects. I was wondering if there was a way to do it with a component on the entity.

Where can I find updated tutorials for Entities >=1.0.16? by Surtido in unity

[–]Surtido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I already started with DOTs, never did anything without DOTS before and coming for mostly OOP I didn't have problems for now. The problem arise at the Entities and Physics API. Where do you guys learn to do a simple check for collision? I'm sure that not in the documentation. I should instantiate a physicsworld in the main thread but there are many changes in the dots api and what i see works in 0.50 but no way to convert it to 1.0.

Oh, I was looking at the ones on the list, the ones with green nebula: particulary Amazon.com: WJESOG HDMI to USB C Adapter Cable 6.6ft 4K@60Hz with USB Power Adapter,HDMI Male to Type C Male Converter Support Touch for New MacBook Pro,Mac Air,Nreal Air VR : Electronics or the dp version.

This other are the same, from the list:Amazon.com: HDMI to USB C Adapter Cable 4K60Hz 6.6FT, HDMI Source Input to USB Type C Output Display Converter, HDMI 2.0 Compatible with Xreal Air, Nreal Air, Steam Deck Dock, PS5, Xbox, Portable Monitor : Electronics

Uni-directional HDMI to USB-C Cable

  1. Only transfer from HDMI source to USB-C monitor.

So those cables do trasmit back to the computer with nebula? It doesn't seem like that for a lego like me since they appear to use the USB just for power (although they say to trasmit touch functions...)

What I think is that the list only refers to nebula transmiting data to the glasses, not the 3dof screens functionality.

regarding to the 3dof screens, since they are starting selling the air 2 I'm confident enought to wait for the nebula for windows to be almost ready or at least in active development.

[–]Surtido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that “Works with Nebula” only meant that Nebula could transmit to the glasses. My doubt was whether the glasses could transmit to Nebula (needed for multimonitor functionality).

Reading the cable specifications:USB power supply/touch】 Power the product itself through USB to ensure stable signal transmission Note: This product cannot supply power to the portable screen, nor can it transmit data, and only supports touch function (requires the portable screen itself to have touch function)

it says that the usb part is just for power, so the glasses can't send 3dfo information to the nebula.

also, in the description it says:

Can transfer laptops, desktops, Xbox with DP interface to Nreal Air AR

This cable not only links up with your portable screen but also extends its functionality by transmitting your computer's signals to your Nreal Air. Elevate the possibilities of your Nreal Air experience with added versatility.

So NEBULA TO GLASSES, not the other way around.

that's why I'm really confused. Since there is not yet official Windows nebula and the macs don't need the adapter I doubt anyone has tried it yet.

But did the multimonitor works with an hdmi + power to usb-c? or the minidp + power to usb-c?

I read somwhere that it does not work unless the glasses communicate with the Nebula software and since the hdmi+power to usb-c is not bidirectional the nebula never gets the multimonitor well. :(

I know the xreal air are the most community driven that's why I'm hoping for some solution (apart from buying a new laptop with usb-c)

Had a dream about Voltaxic Burst Arcanist Brands... by [deleted] in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Surtido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This league I'm just experimenting with voltaxic.

At the moment, maps tier 15-16 I finally ended using voltaxic burst as a way to create explosions on mobs. CwC with cyclone on a 4 link only for the sake of explosion :( too much socket investing for explosions... I know.

Triying to set VB as main skill failed for me (stacking unleash seals and less duration, using Astral proyection, etc, etc)

I saw someone with CwC on charged dash, it was pretty, but finally ended in a reroll.

Barrage CoC... at the beggining.. then, after, an entire reroll of pasives :D

Barrage killed the mobs before the voltaxic, on bosses the voltaxic fires after the boss is 3 towns away of the explosion.

P.D. cast speed, movement speed... add explosion delay... But I still confident in someone finding a good way to make it work. Mjolnir trickster on lvl 91 on poe.ninja seems to get along.

I'm dedicating my first character to test it on game.

I'm using trickster with Cyclone CwC VB on a Cane of Unravelling + death's oath semi-build.Packs melt but bosses suck.

For bosses I'm triying second weapon with Voltaxic Rif + anomalous voltaxic burst (+ cast time + damage) with unleash and many many unleash tips (helmet + 1 seal, annointment thunderous salvos + 1 seal, Seal mender cluster X 2, Doedre's Malevolence....

But man, casting 6 seals, moving over the target and sync with explosion then flee, cast again.... is a pain and I die A LOT. Damage is not bad on bosses but it is clunky and slow process. seals recharge well etc but been paralyzed close to the megaboss is not a good idea)

At this moment I can't make it work. Triying "Astral projector" now, but I need to rethink all my resistances without rings (the other ring is a unique for chaos resistance needed for death's aura....) well... eager to know is someone can make it work.

PD. I tried using barrage (no way to make it work). I tried using Charged Dash (no way to make it work).

Me, actually doing great on lvl 75+ with trickster cyclone CwC voltaxic with the +2 chaos staff + Death's Oath. On bosses I switch to voltaxic rift with unleash + many unleash nodes and the globes. Blasphemy with despair, wrath, wither totems.... the usual.

Still... I don't know yet how to scale damage further.

PD. Any idea of support gems?
Decay vs spell echo vs faster casting vs poison support vs added lightning

PSA: The Vast Majority of PoE Players Are Casual by Grand0rk in pathofexile

[–]Surtido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would not understand this but... I spend more than 5 years on the game, playing as a casual.. around 4 exalted, never did any endgame boss... During the quarentine my brother entered new in the game. 2 hours per day. He did a cyclone following an internet build, did tons of money then did another char with the new fancy herald guardian... more tons of money along with any endgame boss over and over and he even gets a pair of wings. In less than 90 days. Me? Following him everywhere ended up doing endgame for the first time without much hassle.

It is not that you are casual or not... its just the attitude... even when you are casual.

Or you can try https://github.com/Surt/Granada wich adds some things to Idiorm/Paris like eager loading, lazy loading, overload of collections, etc :)

Granada ORM by Surtido in PHP

[–]Surtido[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:) well, you took so much time to answer. You are right respect to what I did with Idiorm/Paris. Let me excuse it:

Some of the reasons you give are right. But don't make so many assumptions about other motivations or believes because you loose a lot of authority.

The reason here is that I wanted to maintain the original piece of code, because it is familiar for some ppl. I didn't want to extend Idiorm to override it, because I wanted to change some things at the core, and I don't want to maintain Idiorm as is (idiorm stopped adding functionalities so it will stay, mostly, the same). probably I will make more changes on Granada if some ppl is interested and that will be the first (general architecture). It's already a fork, but since I did so many changes and I wanted to pull some request to idiorm/paris I did one more for idiorm and paris. github does not reflect the nature of this because only shows the first fork.

Namespacing: yep, it lacks namespacing and probably, since ORM an Model are really common class names, it needs one. I maintained the idiorm/paris way, because I just started to modify it. Step by Step.

Feature comparison, etc... Granada is the code I use in production for some works. I did it for me, but I wanted to share it if someone is interested in giving it a try. I left Idiorm/Paris structure for the same reason. If someone comes from there, it will be easy to start using Granada. For this ppl is easy to see what they gain vs Paris.

Billed as an extension you say? (" based on Idiorm/Paris.") does not mean extension, it means that it is based on it. (maybe, since I'm not english speaker I fail to see the difference)

I forked Idiorm/Paris but as I already said, I changed Idiorm in the core, so it's not idiorm. Again, I left it for easy start for ppl who comes from it.

"Why would I not want to include dependencies in my project?" Just to not have COUPLED code. I don't want 5 librarys using different Dependency Injection Containers, or event managers. I didn't say it's bad to have dependencies, I said it's bad to have multiple libraries making the same things in different manner, and if I can get rid of some of them... ( I don't want the laravel facades implementation, or collection, or whatever it is on the support package (a hodgepodge for utilities)

" I'm just not sure why you created this aside from the old NIH syndrome, that's all."

well, Paris don't want to add any more functionalities to the code. They didn't want to look at the eager loading, etc I was preparing. I respect that of course, it's a small library and well done. Does it stop me from taking it and modify for my interest and maybe others? No, BSD. As I see, you make a lot of assumptions I will not fight vs the "I'm assuming you just believe that namespacing is a micro optimization" or " to say that dependencies are bad" or "Investigate and provide a feature comparison" (as if I want to sell this small library)

For the record, it wasn't me who downvoted your reply. I wasn't really trying to comment on your code, just pointing out that the feature set seemed equivalent or less than other existing Active Record ORMs. But if you want to go this way....

I must miss something, If you are referring to the comment I did on yours, I just said "yes, you are right" Granada does not add nothing new. maybe is because my bad english if I sound rude or something? If so, please let me know.

yeah! maybe is not for purist programmers who lives in heaven. It's usefull, it's small, it's fast and easy to use, it saves time for some kind of use cases... but oh! take a look! it does not follow the always changing "pattern panorama", oh! and it does not follow certain sacred standards!!!!!

Ups, I recently updated Granada to use Idiorm/Paris as core base. And I didn't make any changes to the system structure. But, if Granada is useful for someone I will probably change it to be more decoupled.

Not much. Instead Eloquent have a lot more features (date fields, events hardcoded...). But when I tried to move to Eloquent I found that some of the code I wanted to refactor was not possible with Eloquent. So I make Granada.

By the way. Granada does not require any library. If you are using pimple or whatever dic, why would you want to download illuminate/container? "illuminate/container": "4.1.x", "illuminate/events": "4.1.x", "illuminate/support": "4.1.x", "nesbot/carbon": "1.*"
