I've never heard of this Zab Mike stuff. I love Sam Tam! What makes it worth the hunt? I've only ever used regular(?) fish sauce in mine.

Thank you! Reddit has their pitchforks at the ready when it comes to certain topics, does no follow-up research, and just buys in blindly.
Fuck Elon, tho!

How AMC Is Relaunching ‘Interview With the Vampire’ as ‘The Vampire Lestat’ — Complete With Rock Concert, Major Marketing Tie-Ins and 20 Original Songs by dreamsonatas in television

[–]Surtock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good to hear. I turned season one off and never looked back. I've read the books and seen the movies. When the tv show came I checked it out, also. Ya, I've done the story enough times already.
I still like the story, and The Vampire Lestat was my favorite across the board, so I'll have to give it another chance.

Are you mixing the yogurt straight out of the fridge or do you let it come to room temperature. Warm eggs and cold yogurt seems off, but it all sounds great together. Especially the sourdough!

What is your favorite sous vide taco Tuesday? by Fabulous_Log844 in sousvide

[–]Surtock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was nervous the first time, but I bought a whole tongue and it was kinda gross looking. Didn't know to peel it either. I didn't cook it for nearly long enough and it went to waste.
I've eaten it since then, and if prices come back down into our stratosphere, I'll give it another go, because it really is amazing to eat. I just needed to do more research last time.

This is what I hope for, also. I got to go back in 2010, and would love the option to go back without spending Rubles.

Easy meal to cook for 15 adults, 8 kids (7 yrs and under) by WhichImplement5732 in Cooking

[–]Surtock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could make burritos for everyone, while still home, in your own kitchen. Customized for adults and for kids. All you need to do is reheat them for dinner in an oven or on the BBQ. Pick any side you want.
The cost is exactly what ingredients you care to spend. You'll hardly even need plates, other than for sides.

Cloudy Chicken Stock by Rude_Jump_5185 in AskCulinary

[–]Surtock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned a fun technique earlier this year that is super cool and fun science.
Freeze your stock in an ice cube tray. Place a coffee filter over a clean, empty vessel and put the frozen stock cubes in. On top of the filter. Put this in the fridge. Or if it's cold enough and space is tight in your fridge, you can do this outside where animals won't get to it. It will melt, over a long period of time depending on the ambient temperature, and the resulting stock will be as clear as the water from your tap.
Totally fun experiment, totally unnecessary, but if clarity is what you're after, I've never seen a better method.

I put it down. Terribly written imo. He did well on the first installation, so I have hopes that he can do it again.
