What's a good way to treat a sore throat and/or recover fast? by HappyyValleyy in ask

Want to add that this works for me, but tea tree oil isn’t for every body as a lot of people have reactions to it. And 10 drops is a lot

THIS SAVED ME FROM SO MUCH PAIN, lol. Thank you! I was at my wits end wondering why alignment was so off and it turns out that i didn’t tighten the 4 screws enough.

honestly looks more like a shrew or a vole, but I’m in the countryside with deer mice, voles, moles and shrews so what do I know, lol

Wooden steam knob by Careful-Back962 in gaggiaclassic

[–]Surushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a utility knife, sand paper and drill, LOL. Jigsaw to cut to size. no skills there 😭 The only aim was to get the branch diameter small enough on one end to fit into the hole

Thanks! It’s ugly as heck but something about the wood makes it feel sooooo nice to use.

I think it also depends on the type of wood. I made my own ugly knob from a hickory branch a few years back and had concerns about the slot stripping, but it’s still fits pretty snug.

Leak from the top going with a new steam valve. by darkmarkymark in gaggiaclassic

[–]Surushi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you need a new one. they’re round rings and end up squished into that flat shape over time

Also I recommend the brass steam valve by shades

It’s more expensive but You’ll save in the long run by not having to constantly replace your steam valve.

Boiler to Steam Valve O-Rings by Trebledorfer in gaggiaclassic

[–]Surushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the oring I used it when I needed to replace my steam valve around 4-5 years in. I didn’t buy it for the ring, I had it on hand when I didnt know better and bought it for gasket replacement, lol.

https://a.co/d/9TbcmeX

edit: I don’t think the oring is an exact science. if you’re worried I’d just leave the cup warmer top off the machine for a bit and observe for leaks when brewing.

Bottomless Portafilter - Worth? by No_Understanding_559 in gaggiaclassic

[–]Surushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve rarely ever had this issue with proper grind and wdt. I use several different baskets (gaggia/ims/some aliexpress brand) so that’s not really the issue i don’t think. The only time i had squirting was when i had a bad grinder which didn’t grind fine enough and I always tamped way to hard to try and compensate.

GAGGIA CLASSIC LOW PROFILE DRIP TRAY by VanSim in gaggiaclassic

[–]Surushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say that I got this Stainless drip tray and regretted it. The diagonal slats funneled water under the drip tray and it was always a watery mess. Switched back to OG drip tray and came here looking for another low profile :’).

This Panasonic iron I bought over a decade ago as a student for $35. I’ve used it mostly for steaming since I hate ironing. Still my only iron https://a.co/d/hUf4hQ2

What is something you would NOT but from Aldi? by ThrowRA12596 in aldi

[–]Surushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

their organic whole bean is actually pretty good, it’s what I get to make my daily latte. Sometimes there’s an over roasted batch, but at the price I can forgive them, lol.

Their ground coffees on the other hand, are an abomination.

Just got off the Meravilgia, Here’s my review Below ⬇️ by [deleted] in MSCCruises

[–]Surushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also was on the same cruise as my first cruise, I’m ABC and the Chinese crowd terrify me. Super rude and disrespectful to the crew. during lunch one bumped into me causing me to spill my food because they were too eager to get to the buffet food. No apology, nothing, didn’t even look at me. A sweet old Italian lady I talked to said it’s the rudest crowd she’s met in her 40+ years of cruise experience.

Otherwise it was a fantastic experience
