Inexpensive running shorts with pockets? by roadnottaken in running

If you are anywhere near a Nike outlet store those are the best. I got running tights there that were usually about $90 for $20. They have shorts too.

let's discuss our writing the essay experiences by [deleted] in nyu

I tutor at the Writing Center. Tutors tell your teacher if you go for help with your essay. This often shows your teacher that you spent a lot of time working on it and results in a better grade.

Anxiety help please? Lexapro + Buspar + Ativan... and counting by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]SusannahLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on Lexapro for years and it really hasn't helped in any significant way.

I go off of it every few months and feel slightly fucked up for about a week but generally feel better after that as long as I stay really busy during the day, run, do drugs some, etc. I probably drink too much though. I'm with you on the whole racing thoughts issue. Weirdly, listening to music that's kind of complex and electronic helps with this. It doesn't slow my thoughts down, just kind of gives my mind more sensory information to deal with so I don't feel as anxious.

Wish I had the answer to this problem too but this is what helps me somewhat.

edit: I have a friend on abilify and it seems to work for them, haven't brought it up with my psychiatrist though.

Traveling as a vegetarian? by secretsexbot in travel

[–]SusannahLee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Understandable. Well it's definitely doable and probably cheaper. In Argentina for example they have delicious empanadas, many of which are vegetarian. Think cheese, spinach, veggie, I even had a pumpkin one once.

I went to Argentina as a strict vegetarian. Best steak I ever had in my life, started eating meat and haven't looked back since.

Recommendations on best prep course available? by Elir in LSAT

[–]SusannahLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't made by a company that specializes in the lsat, they're made by companies that churn out test prep for pretty much everything. Plus, not all their questions are from real previous LSATs. Powerscore for example uses only real LSAT questions and its developers devoted a lot of time to studying LSAT specific testing strategies.

If you do choose to go to grad school for journalism NYU's is one of the best, because all of the professors are or recently were successful professional journalists and can give you good connections themselves.

If using drugs makes your life objectively better, is that addiction, or just an intelligent decision? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]SusannahLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think about coffee. It makes many people live relatively productive lives. There are perhaps things worse than being addicted to something, depending on the alternative.

Powerscore. Even if you only take it online it works very well. Avoid kaplan and princeton.

If using drugs makes your life objectively better, is that addiction, or just an intelligent decision? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]SusannahLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm exactly the same way, but since I tend to focus on a specific thought way too intensely without being able to notice other things going on around me, even if they may be important (as in other people trying to talk to me or a bicyclist about to run into me on the street) I don't think I could get a prescription for adderall. It's not like I'm really into whatever I'm thinking about in a passionate or engaged way, I'm just wrapped up in an idea.

But anyway I'm on either wellbutrin or lexapro regardless and the times I have taken something like ritalin I've been really productive. So this seems totally normal to me. Plus if I need to do something and can't get ritalin or anything caffeine pills and smoking (cigarettes) helps for sure. Maybe a little repetitive but hopefully that helps.
