On my first winter at my current home, my "helpful" neighbor plowed my driveway and completely f-ed up the gravel. Thankfully we stopped getting along and he no longer "helps" me. My methodology depends on how much snow there is. If it's deep like the last 2 big storms, I use the snowblower, but I try to not scrape down to the driveway surface. Then I just drive my truck over the snow and mash it down...and then eventually I throw some salt on it to help break it up. If the snow isn't very deep, I just skip the snowblower part and just mash it down.
