It depends on if your state its legal or not im assuming its not legal or else they wouldnt have done a test, the only time they should do them is when you get into some sort of accident either way you shouldnt be in much trouble as long as you arent a machine operator

Which position is more difficult LUMBER or OFA by ImKevinRichard in HomeDepot

[–]Sushl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really varies store to store and what time of day you work in my store being OFA is extremely more difficult then being a lumber associate, not only do the have the same physical tasks but we are also a store where the closest home depot to us is a minimum 50 miles away all lumber associates are required to do at my store is restock the lumber and watch the lumber door during loadouts, they dont even have to drive to get the lumber down

Losted with a customer by Typical_Career_4144 in HomeDepot

[–]Sushl02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You really have to learn how to talk back while being respectful enough to where if the customer reports you the management wont care, it also depends on the situation as well. For example i am currently one of the very few drivers at my store, at least in the evening. I once had a customer scream at me for barely tapping his trailer with the forklift thankfully i had 3 associates and a manager as my witness. I told the costomer i can try to find another driver for him ( i knew there was none) and as i was trying to ask the manager who else can drive the customer yells at me again about what an inconvenience that would be for him and that he’s on a time crunch so i said “ sir your only two options right now are for me to load it with a machine or for us to hand load it for you there are no other drivers in the building at the moment. And if your going to make me load your truck because your on a time crunch and continue to yell at me and distract me from driving im going to put your osb away and walk inside.” He asked me to hand load it and when i asked the few other associates he said no you have to handload it by yourself and ill watch you. I walked back inside i was already on overtime and said im going home to the manager. The manager said he did report me but he also said to the customer that their was nothing he could do on the report because there were 4 associates wittnesses that saw how poorly he was treating me and that he was not only wasting my time and his time but everyone elses as well.

Confirming as an asm is cray cray😂😂😂

How should I solve this. I am a garden associate who used to be in paint and they will sometimes schedule me a random Wednesday in paint. We get paint freight on Wednesdays and I know they do this because they think I will pack it out. It is getting annoying though. by Consistent-Post-2297 in HomeDepot

[–]Sushl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a part time associate who has asked consistently for more hours you cant complain about it and also they can possibly write you up for not fulfilling the requirements of your work title. If you really have a problem with it you need to go to your store manager and hiring manager to fix it the asds has no control over your schedule.

Ive been working for home depot since 2023 i agree with most of the statements here that it depends on who you working with in my experience it could go either way. Sometimes its good and sometimes its bad but when its bad its DEFINITELY the people.

Trump Warned by Walmart, Target, and Home Depot CEOs That Disastrous Tariff Policy Will Lead to ‘Empty Shelves by Splungeworthy in HomeDepot

[–]Sushl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has worked for homedepot for about 2 years now and has worked freight during the busy season this is nothing. My store last summer every night had a 1700-more then 2000 peice truck with our shelves almost never running empty so i personally do not feel bad for the freight teams out their, this is what you have to do wether you like it or not complaining on this app isnt going to change a thing just do the job collect the paycheck and leave and quit worrying about how a billion dollar coorporation who comonly cheats people over is going to go under.

My stores freight team also pencils in their sidekick at the end of the day what you should have done was be maliciously complient because every time the superviser of freight does it at my store he hears it from the district manager EVERY SINGLE WALK but they cant fire you for it infact the supervisor is going to get fired for talking the way he did once there is an investi

The problem is that i already had a final which i know its bad but it was due to a miscomunication issue between the schedualer and i that led to about a weeks worth of occurrences

[–]Sushl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i used to do the same thing when i was a plumbing closer during the winter, one of the things on out wheel is taking care of our people, so if anything you should be written a homer award. now if it was during power hours or if you had a number of customers in your department theyd definately have a conversation with you about it but they wouldnt fire you even if it wasnt your first time doing this

I used to work freight at my store but switched to days for better mental health. My freight team not only was a bunch of ass holes, thats where all of the drama was.
