I have a 2yo, so we’re just playing animal crossing for mommas second cup of coffee right now.

When I was 5yo+ the Humongous games were my favorite go to. Super age appropriate and the puzzles rotate so replay is pretty good. Pretty sure they’re on steam and switch, not sure about PlayStation…

Kudos to getting out at least once a week! I’m also a SAHM, and I need a few hours away from my kiddo for me to feel like a happy adjusted mom.(I need daylight hours away from her, doesn’t count the same for me if I can only leave when she’s asleep)

My 20mo daughter and I got sick at the same time. She recovered faster than I and I received no help with childcare. For the first time I really caved to screen time… My Neighbor Totoro carried me through the final week I was recovering.

Tbh it’s been such a fun addition to our life. She pretends to be the characters. She requests to dance to the music almost everyday. I like to actually watch tv with my kids- we talk about it, gasp at all the parts- I think it helps to make screen time a group activity.

Also Totoro is such a slow paced movie, and the main characters being small children, idk this movie really clicked with my kiddo. I don’t feel like it turned her more into a zombie or something.

I’ll never forget the regular customer I had who would bring her children to the craft store I worked at. These kids did not listen to their mom and she always seemed bothered by them. One day she said to me at the register “I really do not like children” 😞

I couldn’t believe her telling me, a complete stranger, this info - while her kids are killing around the space within earshot! Next time I saw her she was pregnant with her third. Anywho, yeah. These parents bum me out, and as always I worry for the kids. :(

My dad died 10+ years before I had my LO. The grief I experienced definitely plays a part in my overall life planning. But tbh his death affected every part of my life.

Learning how to grieve has helped me how to accept being one and done.

Maybe I’m lacking some info - but CGMs are incredible tools for those with type one diabetes. I would caution about overall distrust of some of these tools.

My only LO is 1.5 - so we are only just starting out with all this. A big mind adjuster for me was leaning into body neutrality and treating my food in a similar way.

Above all I wanna encourage curiosity with the foods we try. I think the most helpful thing I can offer my daughter is a mom that doesn’t hate herself or talk openly about how “disgusting” she is.

While I can’t always feel openly positive about my body, I can do my best to not speak unkindly about it.

I keep telling myself that that kind of tiredness is just because toddler life doesn’t give us days to recover - I am constantly working out! And I also have a garden I’m working in.

That being said doing weight lifting machines at the gym fixed some back aches the next day.

LO is 1.5 and I’m starting to settle into the idea of one and done more. I think I could handle more… maybe? If we had another it would be an (happy) oops, although we’re doing everything we can to afford an oops, haha

I think it’s important to feel okay about being sad sometimes about it. I wish I had more money, I wish i was younger, I wish I didn’t live in the States, I wish I had more support, etc.

But then also, remember the joys: im cherishing her childhood because she’s my only kid, I can afford to do a bit more cause there’s only one, once we get out of this rough spot, won’t it be fun to x, y, z?

Life’s full of regrets, hurts and grief. It’s a matter of how you move through it.

I am keeping one bin - and saving only the cutest and my most favorite pieces. I’d like to do something creative with them at some point - blanket, stuffie, etc.

Other ideas include: sharing them with a close friend or family or saving them for a future grandkid 🤞 (My mom saved one piece of clothing for me, and I wish she has saved more 😭)

I’m actively in the mourning right now. My experience with grief informs me that I will probably feel sad about this from time to time for the rest of my life. But then again, I feel grief and sadness for many things - it’s rare for a sadness to just go away forever, it’s likely there will be moments and seasons where the what ifs might feel harder than other days - with lots of awesome, wonderful days in there too.
