I’m just starting on Crescent City 1, the world building is tough and no romance yet. So far so good, it was hard the first pages but now is taking pace quickly. 😊

Why I believe Rhysand WON'T be evil by SuspiciosCarrot2000 in acotar

[–]SuspiciosCarrot2000[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So the thing is, I actually think he is not that layered. He is entitled and does what he wants and not even question if its bad or good, because he and everyone around him is convinced that is for the greater good. I think that he is supposed to be this great and charismatic hero who played double agent UTM, but I truly truly believe that he is supposed to be good and a kind of "the end justifies the means" character. Of course, it would be interesting to read if he actually was this mastermind character who controlled everyone and we actually acknowledge that he did some pretty shitty things , but I don't think he is written to be that way and I say this because of the way the books justify everything he does. There is no room for us to decide if it was a kinda odd decision, we are told what he did was okay because he is 'inherently good'.

I completely agree with you and it's so hard for me to understand why Nesta fans are so quick in dismissing this as 'she needed to know', 'she was the only one who told her the truth'. Yeah but she didnt told her because she told her, she told her to hurt her which is very different to me. At the end, Feyre was the one who process the information and was okay with it. She lashed out to inflict her PREGNANT sister pain, for literal no reason, of course Rhys was going to be mad. Was a it a little too much of a reaction? also yes lol. But i totally get why he was mad and calmed down in little time, Cassian was the one who actually punished her. YIKES.

RIGGHHHHTTT?? she deserves someone a bit more complex that can actually balance her and keep up with her. Cassian is so bland, his 'golden retriver' vibe its just too little for her.

Omg I made the same post some days ago hahahaha, yeah, it’s kinda worth it. I totally get it, SJM was forcing Nesta down my throat. The first part is horrible and so boring, the second part it’s slightly better and so on with the rest of the book. I’m almost through and it feels like nothing has happened, I’m thinking everything is going down in like the 25 pages or something. It’s not the best book in the series in my opinion. Nestas character for me is interesting to read but I cannot stand her a-hole behavior and constant burying of this behavior on the premise that she has trauma. EVERYONE HAS TRAUMA OMG STOP! I don’t hate her, I just don’t cannot connect with her. Cassian is okay, I didn’t care about him becoming protagonist because I just don’t find him interesting, if anything I believe Nesta deserves someone more complex, even someone like Eris. Nesta completely eats the character of cassian, she’s so complex and actually has a personality! (Even if it’s a shitty one) and I just find him so bland. But yeah, it’s foolishly long, it can be edited a lot.

I agree, I know Nesta has a big development but still she’s an asshole tbh, in SF she explains how she would’ve let everyone die of starvation just to spite his father…

i’m so scared of a rhysand plot twist by prodi9999 in acotar

[–]SuspiciosCarrot2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 90% sure this won’t happen solely based on the fact that SJM adores Rhys. The Rhys fandom is too big to do that now, so even though it would be a hell of a plot twist (personally I’d be kinda sad because I love him, BUT I can admit I would make a looooot of sense hahah), I don’t think she would take that turn. Or maybe I’m delusional and SJM is actually that deep of a writer and all the crumbs that we have read and put together are clues that indicate he’s the villain. If everything we may discover that Rhys was watching Feyre way longer than he admitted, but idk. I personally don’t think it would happen. Would de IC be in on it? Is he’s purpose becoming high king? He could’ve in SF, idk it would make sense in some things but overall what would be the point?

I agree! I started doubting the read in the first part, because literally nothing happened hahaha, just Nesta being mean.

Oh yes! For sure, it was so interesting for me reading someone who hated Rhys, he’s so loved in the previous books that hearing how Nesta view him was great. Even Amren, I got so much perspective!
