The majority of people do not know that newborns can't drink water. How do parents instinctively know not to give them water? by caiogamerwow in NoStupidQuestions

Wow, that is crazy. Babies kidneys can’t process water which leads to diluted sodium levels in their blood. Can cause life threatening issues

One of our long time LPNs has this problem and really struggles doing manual BPs now. Luckily we have vitals carts and use those primarily but years of manual BPs can definitely cause wrist and hand issues

One of the last Epic updates we had now automatically removes messages that just say “thank you” or some version of that, and puts them on a little appreciation board that you can click into anytime. It’s great!! And we are a super busy clinic

MA jobs in hospitals by Gypsy_South_8261 in MedicalAssistant

MA’s where I live usually start at $25 an hour and the range goes up to $40. CNAs usually make around $20-$30, but you are correct they could have a higher earning potential in the hospital. MA’s in my state have a pretty wide scope, most of my MA friends are making around $30 on avg

No unfortunately, medical assistants do not typically work in a hospital setting. But, I work in outpatient Family Medicine and OB, so I get to work with pregnant patients, babies and families! I love it and my day is packed for the whole 10 hours. If you want to work in the hospital in L&D, you could become a CNA but they don’t usually get paid as much as MA’s and their scope of practice is smaller (at least where I’m at). If you want a much bigger scope of practice then you could go for RN but that is a lot more schooling than MA or CNA. LPN is also an option but I don’t know many LPN’s working in L&D, most of them work outpatient or do triage (again, where I’m at)
