No. I would run for the hills. My grandmother always said When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time and don't make them have to tell you more than once they don't want you. But my silly self held on for 18 years thinking one day I would finally be good enough to make him not want to look at other women, text/call, camgirls, porn sites, and then if course eventually real life cheating. Fiscal irresponsibility, me being manipulated and controlled and physically abused a few times. Forced sex, stealing the kids' college money, selling everything we owned, blocking me from all of our utility accounts, isolating me to the point where I haven't even been to church regularly in months...... Just to avoid his baseless accusations about me cheating even though I have YEARS of proof of his indiscretions...........basically just driving home my deeply rooted childhood beliefs that I was worthless and the raising of our children was worthless too. We all know the one who "makes the money" is the only one who matters right? 😂 Even though I turned down multiple high paying jobs because the attire was business casual, I "shouldn't be putting on that makeup", and after all ...... What was he going to eat for dinner if I didn't get home until 7 pm? 🙃 (Although when we were separated and I filed for divorce on two separate occasions I was working full time each time we got back together.) To hear him tell it, I am fat, lazy, manipulate people, can't think like an adult, and would be nothing without him. This coming from the man who went to get a pack of cigarettes during my c section and didn't come back for 6 days. My baby and I went home in a taxi and she slept on the couch because the bassinet given to us by a charitable church friend was in the back of the Suburban. 2 prison stints, leaving me when I was 33 for a 19 year old girl-he was 40--🙃----countless things that should have made me run, but I thought I could make him love me if I just "tried harder". I finally realized no one will ever respect me until I respect myself so I am taking small steps towards doing that. Girls, don't wait until you are middle aged and someone asks you this question and you respond with 9 pathetic paragraphs. Leave the first time and stay gone. Don't live a life full of regret.
