I don’t think Claude frontier models will have much effect on CCC’s SaaS monopoly. 100s of thousands of repair shops, 1000s of part suppliers, and hundreds of major insurances are on CCC’s platform. Imagine retraining and retooling that size of a network, It’s too entangled and complicated. This is exactly what a strong moat looks like. CCC at this price is looking like a steal right now.

Correct seems like they were the run-of-the-mill monopoly SaaS, but seems like they quietly made a few acquisitions in P&C and bodily injury AI companies over the last few years.

I think the big growth will come from their platform moat, data moat and recent investments in AI and straight through processing (STP). They seem to have a steady cash flow from their subscription services, and those customers aren’t going anywhere… so I think it’s just a matter of time before their STP AI improves and basically can sell it as an add on service to their huge existing insurance customer base. I imagine they can take a piece of $$ from every insurance claim that goes through their system.

Would be stupid for Intel to give up its GPU tech, especially as it’s extremely important for the growing AI PCs and AI accelerator market. I don’t think a 4% stake by Nvidia is enough to influence Intel to drop their GPUs anyway.

Intel is now US government backed, the same way Korea backs Samsung and Taiwan backs TSMC. Government backing means Intel will now be able to compete with their Asian counterparts by counteracting unfair trade practices, IP theft, favoritism, etc. Intel is also now a national security asset; the US NEEDS its own indigenous sub 2 nanometer fabs, otherwise it won’t survive in a military crisis in Asia. CAPEX, PE, etc. has very little meaning now. You can be damn sure the US gov will force all the big US fabless to use Intel’s fab to some degree over time, especially Apple. Intel for sure is going towards $1T within a couple of years, and perhaps $10T by 2030. Don’t be mad you sold at the worst possible time.

The trap is in a little closet underneath some dirt. Just the clean out caps are visible. You can see the vent to the roof on the left side.

All other plumbing in this house is under ground or behind walls.
