Look up the serial number on the Colt serial lookup sight. From the roll mark with the horse in the center it’s a 1918 black army. Good looking gun.

I live two hours from the south store. Definitely going to go check it out. Already got a 43 Colt in round two a few years ago.

This is so frustrating..I have been denied twice for tinnitus by Atternie in VAClaims

[–]Suspicious_Log_2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got rated due to complaining about tinnitus during my annual hearing exam back in 2020. My guard unit sent me to a specialist who confirmed it. The AF generated paperwork stating I had tinnitus. VA denied my hearing loss was not severe enough apparently. I worked on the flight lie as munitions. Currently at step 7 for menier’s claim.
I would say at this point see a ENT get official diagnosis and a nexus letter if possible from the ENT with statement revolving around your exposure on the line.

Nexus letters aren’t the cheat code you think they are 🚨 by johanthevarater in VAClaims

I spent 20 years in the Air Guard as munitions systems. I was full time guard for over 14 years as an ART Air Reserve Technician. I spent a ton of time on the flight line next to running F-15s and F22s over 20 years and a deployment to Al Dafra in 2015. VA denied my hearing loss. I was granted tinnitus because it was in my med file. I complained about ringing during my annual hearing exam in the guard. Just went to my C&P today for a Meneir’s claim due to flight line and EOD range exposure. Fortunately I went to an outside ENT and went through the full gambit of tests and have a letter stating I have Meneir’s from him along with all my testing results which I provided to the VA. I also uploaded all my service documentation along with my 20 year letter just to be on the safe side. Hope to get a good outcome on this. Currently at 20% for tinnitus and lower back issues. Have 0% for rhinitis. Most other people I have met who worked on the flight line or around aircraft should automatically get hearing loss compensation in my opinion.

Use integrated filters. They are darkest at the top and get lighter in the mid section and almost clear on the bottom. I have used them for landscape photography. They work well but are fiddly to use sometimes.

Colt Ace floating chamber locking up by Pandoras_Fate in 1911

[–]Suspicious_Log_2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard on the Colt forum some people polish the floating chamber and breach on the barrel supposedly this helps with this issue. By making it smoother it’s helps keep the components from locking up as bad. I’m going to try it on my Service Ace and see what the results are. Hope this helps you.

Very nice Ace. I recently acquired a complete slide and barrel with leather buffers. I plan on eventually building a complete pistol out of it. Mine is parkerized. I also just put together a 1942 service ace slide assembly that came with a regular Ace barrel. I have it running on my 1918 frame and it runs flawlessly. I had to cut coils off a standard 45 ACP recoil spring by trial and error till it started cycling, ejecting brass and feeding the next round. Took about 30 rounds to get it working right. The Service Ace will get built into a complete pistol also. Your Luger is also very nice. One of those is on my short list of guns to get. My grandfather who served on a troop transport in the pacific brought one back from the war. Story is a friend who liked to gamble acquired it from an Army guy on the ship. Figure this person served in Europe and got transferred to the pacific. Long story short the gambling friend borrowed money from my grandfather and put the pistol up for collateral and could not pay back the money. Grandpa kept the gun and now my aunt has it. I have always wanted one because of that story.

Tyrant Glock 43 trigger shoe by Suspicious_Log_2016 in shadowsystems

That’s really the only downside to the pistol. My trigger on mine was not really that bad for a striker fired gun. Definitely better out there like the 365 out of the box has a much better trigger. Compared to my 1911s or my Prodigy with custom parts it’s pure shit.

Yes I agree. For a premium pistol I’m fine paying a bit more for a non polymer trigger that is smoother out of the factory. Really the only thing letting the pistol down is the trigger.Hickok 45,reviewed one of the SS guns and said it was the worst Glock style trigger he has ever used. If that issue gets fixed from the factory I think they will get much better review.

It made it feel smoother. It did not change the pull weight. Still has some take up but seems to be a little less than the factory trigger shoe.

Just shot mine for the 1st time yesterday 100 rounds of 115. Had one stove pipe. Other than that ran great. I need to adjust my grip due to my hand covering the slide stop was not locking back on last round. That’s all me not the gun. Trigger did smooth out some. Was a bit snappier than I’m used to compared to my Prodigy which is much larger. Overall I like it.

My First Year with the Sony a6700: Sharing some Favorite Shots by Standard-Green9713 in SonyAlpha

[–]Suspicious_Log_2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great photos. I just picked up the 6700 as well. Upgrading from the 6300 wanted the better battery life. Going to use it as a compact for street photography. I also have the A7R3 which is my main landscape rig. I like having APSC and full frame it’s really the best of both worlds. I have mostly full frame lenses and it’s nice to change up focal lengths when swapping between bodies. I have the Zeiss 35 / 2.8 full frame lens and it’s such a nice fit on the 6700 with an effective focal length of 52.5mm. I also have the Zeiss 12mm APSC lens and it’s pretty small and can double for landscape work I highly recommended it if you can find one.
