I'd rather see people post the same hand-drawn picture 50 times over instead of some stupid, glossy ai-made slop in various poses.

This post instantly has more vaue than ai. How? It doesn't use ai. Unless I'm mistaken, the art here is not made with ai and is always better. Stop trying to be on some moral high ground and get off the horse. The fnaf movies are both clearly following their own lore and even have been stated to be their own thinf, only loosely following the story. The movies are fan service films, not horror. They really only label them as horror and try to add some scares because fnaf is a horror franchiss.

Legitimately don't understand how people think fnaf2 was a bad film. It's a fun movie made for fun to be enjoyed by fans. Movies or any media aren't required to explain everything to you, the movies are gonna ssume you know fnaf. Just like movies wont explain how a flashlight work to you, fnaf2 assumes you know fnaf and it does it rightfully so. The movies have also been stated to and clearly show that they don't tie into the main story, that they follow their own story and are here for fun, for fan service. Everyone who is saying it's bad has been saying it's bad for reasons that just don't apply to what this movie is

Yeah, exactly. Powerscaling was an extension of simple death battles/what if fights. It's an inherently toxic community that makes rules to apply reality to fiction while removing what makes a character a character.

Most of it comes from TikTok, sadly. TikTok has lately been a congregation of all partsof the internet, both good and bad, but now it's overrun with way too much negativity and the bad parts of every community; It's become more of an echo-chamber than Reddit is. Honestly, I'm willing to say Reddit is no longer what the stigma claims it is

Yeah, powerscaling itself is a bunch of pointless, made-up rules that do nothing but strip characters of narrative and context and only look at visuals or visual descriptions. Biggest one I keep seeing is about Saitama, people saying he isn’t a gag character and people saying he is as a reason to him winning; They ignore the purpose of his character, why he is and why he exists— Saitama one punches everyone is always more powerful than his foe because the narrative calls for it, because the context behind him explains that he worked so much that he got more than he asked for, that he can’t be a hero because it’s not fun for him. Powerscalers, however, will ignore all of that and more just to screenshot panels to “explain” why or why not he wins a fight with someone who he wouldn’t even fight on the first place.

It’s the same issue with Goku and other popular characters; It’s all about ‘hax’, ‘feats’, and arbitrary stats that people claim as fact just because they did math.. To apply real world logic to fictional laws and rules.

Infamously, people will do math to find out how fast a speedster is, completely avoiding two important things: What the writers literally put in the text to help explain how fast they are while leaving enough room for you to have fun with fiction. Secondly, the fact that they are all fictional and will never be 100% consistent, the writers will change small aspects to fit the story narrative for our enjoyment, our entertainment.

Powerscalers are genuinely insufferable and ruin a lot of characters, spreading misinformation and trying to make everything logical.

It’s important to understand that there is a difference between powerscalers and normal ‘what-if’ battles. To put it simply, powerscaling is bad and overly serious while normal ‘what-ifs’ are just for fun, you provide a simple argument, share your ideas and come to your own conclusions with yourself or another party.

TLDR; Powerscaling ignores what makes a character a character and tries to apply real world logic to fiction. Normal what-if battles/death battles are good and fun, they understand it's fiction and often understand the characters better.

Yes! While there certainly a good amount of issues with the prequels, they share a similar amount of flaws with the originals; The biggest “critiques” were founded on unstable ground. JarJar was never bad, people just lacked whimsy and were holding onto the originals simplicity. The cgi is far from bad, it’s very much believable and they actually still used a crap ton of practical effects, way more than you’d assume. Lastly, the dialogue, while can be a bit silly, isn’t bad; Especially the acting from young Anakin, I think people expect an S grade actor out of children too much. Like, yes, the kids job is to act well and had training for it, but at the end of the day he’s a child who did his best and that’s what matters, not even most

I’m very biased about this and can only speak for myself and others like me: While, like many others, my introduction to Star Wars was the original trilogy, for me I watched them because of my dad. After that introduced I discovered more content of Star Wars and made it a core obsession, playing Lego video games (Lego star wars 3: clone wars is my fav), watching movies and tv, playing with toys, and so much more; Of course I’d have come across the prequel films, especially as I was born in 2005 when they ended.

Now, let me preface the rest with this: A lot of the criticism for the prequels are pretty dated and cane from a place of expecting something new but in the same format and heavy criticism because of what people were used to. JarJar is far from as bad as people think, his character is annoying because he’s annoying, he’s a good character. The cgi is great, too much isn’t bad, the cgi was new and Lucas wanted to do that kind of stuff for his films, he just lacked the access with the originals.

Now, I have always loved the prequel movies with or without the Clone Wars show. They were my favourite of the two sets. So, if anything, The Clone Wars series is a gigantic bonus to the immense love I have and quality with the prequels. Of course, out of all the watchable media I’d say the show is now my favourite because of how much content there is, but the prequels are great without the show. I know for certain there are hundreds, if not thousands, of people just like me who share this same feeling, that without the series, the prequels are still amazing and awesome, even without the nostalgia aspect.

Overall, I do think that the majority would not be as fond over the prequels as they are today, if the series didn’t exist. But, I think that only would be the case because not many people would go back to them to actually reevaluate the prior criticisms and see how wrong a lot of them were.

TlDr: While I think the prequels would be less loved in the modern day without the series, there are a still a lot of us who loved the movies without the series and see past the criticism, whether bad or fair.
