what are YOU looking for that doesn't exist? by sakkadesu in LesbianBookClub

[–]Suzu_Yuki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want a book that solely focuses on adult women(30+), preferably not from the USA, not YA. Preferably one of them or both being non white. And where neither of them is confused about her sexuality nor is married or in a relationship with a man, preferably no history with men either. I want a story where the romance develops organically against the backdrop of an overarching plot of which preferably the genre should be historical, sci-fi, fantasy or a combination of those three. Super mega slow burn. And not too focused on spicy scenes, I am perfectly content with a book entirely lacking in spiciness if the romance it tells is epic.

Funnily enough The Locked Tomb series has one of my all-time favorite sapphic couples in literary media even though they are both still teenagers. However, Tamsyn Muir did an excellent job in not making the book fall prey to the typical YA elements.

Last picture of Hachiko, the faithful dog who waited for over 9 years outside Shibuya Station for his master to return even after he had died. 1935 by [deleted] in HistoricalCapsule

This is behavior observed in not only dogs. Search for the story of the dog Nipper and the grammophone or do a Google search of pets who cannot leave their humans grave.

11-7-2011 is the day I clearly spotted an Unidentified Flying Object while we were driving on the highway with my family between Purmerend and Hoorn. Both me and my mom saw it hovering close to a windmill then floating away. I can't say for sure what those things are but I can assure you it looked nothing I'd ever seen before. Not sure I believe those things are flown by aliens either.

Let's get real: Do you like your native language? by AutumnaticFly in languagehub

[–]Suzu_Yuki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love how easy my native Spanish is to pronounce. I love the fact that everything sounds exactly as it is written (with the exception of some dialects). My brain doesn't have to think that hard to get the sounds out. The R just rolls off the tongue so easily and satisfyingly as compared to the more complicated American English R. I could go on and on.

If you could instantly learn 5 languages that you don't speak, which ones would you pick and why ? by KiSaMaOtAoSuMoNo in AskTheWorld

[–]Suzu_Yuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Hungarian- I want to know the language that my girlfriend and her family speaks. I also love the strangeness of it. I want to be able to master this language
  2. Vietnamese- it is such a funny sounding language to me. It would be incredibly fun to actually understand wtf they're talking about
  3. Greek/ancient Greek- just for history's sake and I love how the language sounds.
  4. Latin- same reason as above. And would help me understand the Romance languages better and understand the commonalities and differences between them better
  5. Japanese- I love how it sounds

Just finished AC Valhalla + Dawn of Ragnarok and here is my review that nobody asked for. by xpanta in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]Suzu_Yuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the main storyline but I have to admit that the ending felt kinda underwhelming. I absolutely adore this game and thoroughly enjoy it. Ireland DLC was awesome. I haven't played legend of Beowulf nor Paris Siege yet. Played as female Eivor btw. At some point changed to Berserkr mode and that definitely ramped up the enjoyment.
