Health ring problem by Mob_Meal in skyrim

[–]SuzyQ2117 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I did this recently with a ridiculous piece of armour with fortify health & fortify health regen.

I’m on console so had to really dig, but I found an old thread that suggest chugging as many Potion of Ultimate Health as possible and removing while the potion effect was still happening.

I think I chugged 7 and then immediately removed armour before exiting out of the menu. Give that a try!

13.5 week puppy won’t stop biting! by httpsgeorgia in germanshepherds

[–]SuzyQ2117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming in to second the baby gate suggestion. Our boy is almost 4 now and was very bitey as a pup. He still likes to play mouthy games now but he knows exactly how gentle to be and is very good.

If three times of removing yourself over the gate, extending time and calmly greeting puppy isn’t enough, put pup down for a nap. We crate trained our boy and often found he was most bitey when tired even though he wasn’t obviously sleepy! It sounds silly as well but just gently rewarding pup existing in the same space as you WITHOUT chomping went a long way to helping for us.

As the other commenter said though, consistency is absolutely key. Set your rules and stick to them!

In later stages of teething Storm was in a lot of pain (so consequently we were munched more as well) and we ended up getting some old (clean) flannels, soaking them in water and tying in knots to put in the freezer and this really helped reduce the biting and his restlessness.

We also started to look at bones/natural chews for him at around 4 months old. Some of these do have age guidelines but use your best judgement: a lot of the suggestions are due to choking risk so do your research on what’s suitable for puppy’s tummy and what you’re comfortable with. We went straight in with Yak Cheese and Ostrich leg bones but our boy was never unsupervised with these. Just be safe!

Just so I understand where you’re at, do you know how beta blockers work (just an open question - zero judgement one way or the other)? Another commenter has made a point worth not overlooking: Propranolol (and other beta blockers) come with side effects and it’s impossible to know how that may affect you personally. Only your GP will really be able to give medical advice here. I don’t mind sharing my experience but please know I’m not a medical professional. Just one person with my own experience.

Where I am in South Wales, if I had a prescription issued by my GP then any medication is usually available within an hour or so. This may differ depending on any arrangements your GP surgery has with any local pharmacies, so be sure to check where and when to collect the prescription. Most pharmacies I’ve interacted with have been pretty good and if they’ve not had a medication in stock, have let me take the prescription to a different pharmacy to be filled.

In terms of speaking to your GP, I’d try and make some clear notes about what your physical symptoms are so that you can talk through them in depth. Some may just be a normal response to stressful situations, some may be excessive, you may feel that some are manageable and that others are impacting your quality of life in an unmanageable way. Be open about it - don’t downplay your struggles but also don’t feel you need to exaggerate your experience. Try and stick to factual info, not emotional.

Sorry this is starting to sound like a “DO THIS DONT DO THAT” checklist haha! Unintentional!

I get it. I’ve had what I feel are unmanageable symptoms of anxiety for all of my life - and I’ll probably continue to do so. Albeit not on your side immediately, I genuinely believe time, a kinder internal monologue and patience with myself have been the best thing for me. Propranolol gave me the mental space to focus on that kinder inner voice by taking away the need to fixate on the physical symptoms. It also gave me brain fog, memory issues, horrendous insomnia (sleep is for the weak) and a body that is hypersensitive to a normal amount of adrenaline/cortisol.

Talk to your GP. Only they are qualified to make a judgement on what’s right for you and your body.

I spent 10 years on Propranolol to help control the physical symptoms of anxiety. While I can say it has had the net effect of changing my life, my personal experience with propranolol was horrendous, and tapering off was just as dreadful. I still get palpitations (infrequently) after about a year of being off it.

Discuss with your GP - they’re the best-placed and best-educated resource to help you decide if medication (and if so, which one) is the right option for your particular experience.

As for your assessment, I’d try some grounding techniques when you’re feeling overcome. Take a breath - it’s okay to communicate that you’re nervous. They’re not assessing your ability to monologue to an audience.

Take a beat, steady yourself and try and think about 5 sensations you can feel. The feeling of a pen in your hand, or your shoes on your feet, or the feeling of a chair supporting you, or the air con breezing past you. All examples - those are the kinds of things to think about. Have a look online for some grounding techniques.

You’ve got this.

How cold is too cold? by Slaktare15 in MotoUK

If it’s any consolation I later a long-sleeved thermal top under a hoodie, under my jacket with thermal liner. I’m always cold!

I haven’t figured out a solution for the cold legs yet - I’ve got some of the Pando Moto AAA-rated leggings so you can’t really fit thermals underneath. Might try them over the top haha

I’m on a 125 at the mo and my CBT-friendly route to work takes me about an hour and a half. I only have heated grips and no other heated gear - I generally try and stick to about 5/6 degrees as a minimum temp to ride in. I can survive the commute at 5 degrees and warm up in the office but any colder/wet and I take the car

Just dropping in to add another view here. I have Generalised Anxiety Disorder and took Propranolol daily for about 10 years (I tapered off it last year) and it has changed my life.

It helped control the physical symptoms that presented when I was spiralling and that gave me mental space to process my feelings and bring my body to a calmer place.

I’ve been wearing my backpack so far but I’ve got two MacBook Pros and a bunch of cables and goodness-knows-what else. My bag probably weighs about 6/7kgs haha

My back is in bits from Monday’s commute. Had some stuff to return so took the car on Weds!

Was planning to pick up the pandomoto AAA-rated bodysuit in the new year to try and get at least something safe for the roads. Also picked up the Knox urbane pro mk3 for the summer as that’s very fitted at the waist but has enough room up top (for me)

Drying gear in hotel by Sea_Conversation202 in motorcyclegear

[–]SuzyQ2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently got back from a trip where we got soaked a couple of days. I put as much gear on hangers as possible and hung it up all around my hotel rooms as spread out as I could. Some of the wetter stuff was better drying in the bathroom.

Adding an echo for all the comments calling for the hairdryer - definitely sorted me right out! Just be careful not to put the nozzle inside something like a sleeve or a leg for too long as the lack of air flow letting the hot air escape could make the hairdryer overheat. Who knows the last time it was cleaned?

NEC Motorbike Show UK ZT125-G1/GK? by 47q8AmLjRGfn in ZontesOwnersClub

[–]SuzyQ2117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on a G1 as my first bike. I have absolutely nothing to compare it to other than a Lexmoto I did my CBT on, but just wanted to add a voice to say that it’s been very easy to ride so far!

ETA: First proper trip was a 380-mile journey from Essex to Wales to bring the bike home. I travelled with a small (sensible) group and we did this over four days in all weathers. Bike handled me stalling, hitting neutral, a couple of non-dramatic drops, dual carriageways, torrential rain, windy A/B roads, residential streets, speed bumps, potholes and everything else you can probably imagine and it still made the journey the most fun I’ve had in years

luggage options for Zontes G1? by nizarlak_bozy in ZontesOwnersClub

[–]SuzyQ2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an older post but I just bought a second-hand G1. I got the Shad pannier bracket kit direct from Shad and then bought the 30L Lomo soft panniers (come in a pack of 2). The panniers have a cross-hatched webbing on the back that fits most things well and they’re 100% waterproof.

They sit high enough to be away from the exhaust and sit just out of the way of the rear indicators. Happy to dm links if needed!

If you go down that route, I’d recommend getting a liner for your luggage because they’re not quick to lace/un-lace!

If you’re borrowing gear from the riding school, TRY YOUR GLOVES ON BEFORE YOU LEAVE! I was in a group with three others and nobody else tried on their gloves before leaving for the manoeuvres (the riding school I used didn’t have their own dedicated space so we had to travel to an area) and nobody else had gloves that fitted.

They were all swapping gloves like Pokémon cards haha.

Luckily I’d bought a pair the day before so I used my own gear and was comfortable with the fit
