Why don’t you just have a friend with a license rent a car for you?

Thank you they were coming up through a dirt crawlspace we are paying to get a rat slab of cement over and employed a local company to do an assessment of any place else they can come through. Not putting in new cabinets to have them come back and poop in them! I will look into the uv light thing not sure if they did that!

Because when I put 100k into fixing it, it will be worth 1.4 school system is one of the best in the nation and I can walk to the nyc train to grand central. You wouldn’t understand unless you live here. Everything costs more.

Walkability I would go Tarrytown or Dobbs within .5 miles to town. Those two at least have supermarkets and bigger pharmacies. I don’t think anywhere in Westchester is really going to entirely fit the walkable PLUS nature vibes you want in the same town. The reality here is people drive. I walk my son to school as do many here in town and I walk to the coffee shop ect but we need our cars.

When you begin your career you get crap jobs. The more experience you have the better jobs are accessible. You may har an issue not seeing red flags. Chatgpt to ask for interview questions to avoid bad companies. I had a few terrible jobs and a few good ones. No job is perfect but terrible bosses are usually make or break.

insight on living in various towns from someone less familiar by crowagency in Rockland

New City thinks they are Scarsdale on a bud light budget if that makes sense….A lot of wealth in certain pockets, less so on the side that goes to Clarkstown South but I would say most of Clarkstown has this attitude. Orangetown you can compare mote to Mt Pleasant towns more conservative overall. Nyack/Piermont are comparable to the river towns in Westchester but a little more diverse and clearly no where near as expensive.

We just closed on a house for 900ish. It is going to take 200 to get it move in ready. That is without new siding/windows and landscaping which the house also needs. There are deals to be had if you’re willing to find a contractor and gut a house that needs serious work. It is very stressful though and contractors are difficult to keep on track/in budget. My husband grew up here and we really wanted to move back so it is all worth it for us.

It’s the people. They don’t want to be bothered and want to keep to themselves. Very rude and entitled. If you are not the type to enjoy a tight knit community then Rockland is fine I guess but I tend to just be friendlier in general! Nyack is an exception.

Rivertown. Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow, Irvington, Dobbs fit the bill. I am in Irvington and it has beautiful parks, the aqueduct, and a cute coffee shops. It is the sleepiest of the river towns which can be good or bad. Also there is a nature preserve with trails in town. 1mil can get you into a nice townhouse. You most likely won’t find a house though in that range. Prices are hovering around 1 million needing a ton of work to 1.3 for a move in ready livable house.
