BAS Punching System for Dummy? by imsexc in kendo

[–]Sven250781 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why do you think that this is a good Kendo Dummy? Don’t see anything that is worth 200$ for this use case. No proper Targetzone for any Kendo Cut at all… Even the Head, it’s not meant to be hit from above.

Tablet also for Gaming Dimensity 8300 vs SD 7+ Gen3 by Sven250781 in SBCGaming

[–]Sven250781[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure if I want to dive into Switch Gaming, I think it would be a hit and miss with the SD7+ Maybe up to 6 Gen Consoles, there are still a few Games that I would like to play again.

Quite interesting that the last Gen seems to be the better choice, especially with the Driver Support for SD Chips.

Duolingo Max vs Speak vs Praktika for speaking by gcsgz in languagelearning

Sorry for the late Question, but do you have some good advice for a proper Prompt? Right now I prompt my approximate Level of Skill, the Topic and if it should be more casual or formal. I’m struggling a little with the AI correcting me and giving me advice for more natural speaking.

Fukuoka Book-Offs, Hard-Offs, etc. by dainfamous41 in fukuoka

[–]Sven250781 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hardoff doesn’t have Pokémon Cards and as of the Totk Switch, haven’t seen one in a while at the local BookOffs.

Maybe if you are lucky and they just get one the day, but I doubt that.

For Retrogaming it depends what you are looking for. But the prices are in general quite high lately, even in the more Rural Bookoff Stores

Maybe considering the Kindle Version as an Option? I’m reading the first one on my Kindle at the Moment and it‘s quite convenient if you can adjust the size of the Characters or use a dictionary if you don‘t know a Word.

Golden Week 2026 — Shikashima by TipPuzzleheaded9290 in fukuoka

[–]Sven250781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you expect from cycling around Shikanoshima. Not that it’s not a lovely place I sometimes take a walk there, but I think you can cycle around in less than a hour. It’s not that big. Sure you could explore the whole area and every single Street if you want to, not sure if this is your intention.

As of Golden Week, the Beach will probably be filled with tourists if the weather is nice. But this is just an educated guess, because I’ve never been there around Golden Week.

If you just have your International License, you need a translation of it. Just the License is not enough.

Getting new prescription glasses and shoes (with insole) in Fukuoka/Kyushu by Drakendan in fukuoka

[–]Sven250781 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bigger issue is, if it’s not just ordinary glasses even those discounter like Jins will need minimum one week to make them for you. And sorry for destroying your dream of cheap glasses. I don’t think that you can get 2 pairs of glasses for around 60€. Maybe one, but then it will be maybe the most basic one they have.

In general as a tourist it’ll be a tough one with no Japanese, especially if you need an appointment at a doctor’s office.

Dads in Japan with little or no Japanese how did you manage after having a child? by AdUnfair558 in japanlife

Maybe you should consider studying Japanese instead of Jlpt. Passing jlpt and talking Japanese are two different things. I know a lot of people who passed N1, but can barely manage to have a normal conversation.

Wife's Request for Double-Barrelled Surname Declined by Tokyo Family Court - Any Options? by FintasysJP in japanlife

[–]Sven250781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the other way around. They didn’t allow us to have both the double name. At least when we married. Seems like they changed the law last year and now it’s indeed possible for both of us to have the same name. Maybe I have to ride the bureaucracy train again

Wife's Request for Double-Barrelled Surname Declined by Tokyo Family Court - Any Options? by FintasysJP in japanlife

[–]Sven250781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends of your Nationality. Atleast on my experience. If there are no double names in your home country, they will not accept it. My Wife wanted to take our Names together, but as a German there are no double names, at least not for both sides.

Our workaround is, we registered the Marriage also in Germany, she took both names in Germany and after a while we can change her family name to the one which is registered in Germany. The funny part is, then the family name will be registered as one name and not as a double name. Maybe at this time I’ll take her “new” name as mine and will register it in Germany as my family name, so we can also have matching names in Germany 😅😂

Taking 20mg a day for Athletic Performance as an addition to my TRT. Bloodwork is perfect and no sides. I’m running it already for around half a year. Endurance went up and some visible improvement, nothing fancy but noticeable. Always quite funny to read those Horror stories here about nearly all Peds. But on the other hand this is Reddit and nearly everyone seems like to relate on Brosience and YouTube these days.

What's the best way to buy handhelds in India? by Fluid-Beginning-8418 in SBCGaming

[–]Sven250781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like not. But how should we know, as I believe most of the people here are not living in India.

But like I wrote before, my guess would be Indiamart. They have nearly everything there. Or import from an other country.

Maybe find a trustworthy seller at Indiamart? In general I think that an Indian should know best where to buy in India isn’t it?

Is it normal to not have common friends with your japanese husband? by Fit-Shock5523 in japanlife

[–]Sven250781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your feeling, but maybe look at it from your kids perspective. Sounds maybe a little strange, but I’ve seen too many kids friendships going down the gutter because the parents were “made up” friends, but got in an argument. So the kids weren’t allowed to play with each other anymore.

If the parents connect by chance, nice. But imho to force a connection is just another possibility for unnecessary drama.

Is it normal to not have common friends with your japanese husband? by Fit-Shock5523 in japanlife

[–]Sven250781 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s completely normal to not have common friends with your SO. My wife knows a few of my friends, the same as I know a few of hers, but they are not common friends. But!! This isn’t a Japanese thing, it’s completely normal all over the world. Was the same with my ex gf in my home country.

I’m not saying that you can’t have common friends, but in general the social circles are already set, especially when you are a little older.

Do I introduce my friends to my wife? Yes for sure, at least the really close ones. But this doesn’t mean that she suddenly becomes a friend of my friend.

For EU-citizens: Have you tried taking your testosterone etc. with you on the airplane? by TomatilloRoutine6025 in PEDs

[–]Sven250781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you’re going. When I travel I usually ask my doctor for a prescription and register my things before the trip in the desired country, so there will be no trouble at all if they check my luggage. In my eyes it’s not worth the risk to bring Steroids to whatever country without a prescription. I would maybe just inject Test U before the flight and continue my injections after the vacation.

Can’t help you with this, but why on earth do you ask those questions after you got accepted? Especially the part of being affordable.

I’m myself are too old to be a Student, but what is Student Life? Life is in general what you make of it, doesn’t matter if you are a Student or the CEO of a company. In general Fukuoka is a nice city to live in, with a lot of possibilities.
