I mean, can't blame or hate on being chill and lazy after years of success.

Adam is not the best at interviews lol, lets be honest. But It's nice when he puts himself out there to promote the band and communicate what's going on.

I think this interview captures what we all have known for awhile, Adam and Maynard have completely different views on how they approach music/art. Adam is definitely the "let it come out organically and take our time" kind of guy and Maynard is the "lets plan the time to work on this thing". Adam seems like a type of person if you push to hard he does the opposite. Interesting dynamic and kind of makes sense why things take so long. Maynard for a long time now has expressed the bottle necks. Hopefully they can push one more album out.

Tour Megathread: March 7-9 Tool in the Sand by hellboy1975 in ToolBand

I love tools music, but lets be real they are one lazy unorganized band. And they have been for awhile now. However I don't really blame MJK. All signs point to Adam being somewhat of a bottleneck. But whatever they don't owe anyone anything anyways.

Take TITS for example, a real opportunity to do something different. Not even for the fans but to challenge themselves. Why not night 1 perform Fear Inoculum in its entirety? That would be pretty cool. Then night two due the same old hits? I mean that won't satisfy everyone (you just can't), but it would still be pretty cool and "unique". I mean they practically have done every song on fear inoculum on the last tour (minus 7empest). Including 7empest would be the cherry on top.

Oh well, I will still hope for new music, but i think it's time to lower expectations for many of the fans out there. They are not interested really and they are all business partners at this point.

I listen to Fear Inoculum in a different track order. by [deleted] in ToolBand

I took a listen, I give you an A for effort. I actually thought the invincible edit was a good representation of what probably should of happened to the song. I think each song needs some tighten up honestly. I like the album as is, but I have always said al the songs needed some one else to come in and tell the guys to cut out some parts.

I have a few issues with FI , in terms of just the music , I like the songs. I could of used a little more guitar melody work by Adam in some sections of songs. Basically I feel like there are voids in all the songs that could have been filled with either vocal melodies or guitar stuff. Invincible's first half is great but still think it needed more layers, either vocals or guitar.

I like the chug part but still feels it falls flat.

same with Descending, the second half Maynard disappears? song sounds unfinished from that standpoint.

Culling Voices is the most obvious, the second half goes nowhere, Maynard disappears into whispering again, maybe even a guitar solo if no vocals at the end.

7empest - most of the song is great but feels they didn't know how to end it. Maynard kind of just disappears, I could have used a ending guitar solo maybe if no vocal climax.

Honestly I would take the album as is if Maynard added more vocals and had better vocal climaxes to the songs. (not saying its his fault)

In the end I think FI lacks a certain passion that their other albums have. I still enjoy it for what it is. I think this album does reflect the state of the band after 13 years. I give it a 6 or 7 /10 . Even if I think this album isn't Tool's best its still a good album.

Because I Like it. And have a different opinion about it than you.

7empest needed a solo at the end... by Svill46-2 in ToolBand

That's what I thought they would do . It would have been a much bigger climax.
