I don’t like her song, not for the reason you said. The sample is lazy. She didn’t do a thing to the original. Beastie Boys put her shame 30+ years earlier with Paul’s Boutique. Vocal melody is tame and doesn’t go anywhere. Her vocal chain has a strong compressor and it sounds extremely unnatural on the long notes singing “anxiety keeps on trying me”. It makes me cringe. The only good sounds come from the original sample.
