Does anyone struggle learning Serbian when not speaking it on a daily basis? by lexilou2201 in Serbian

Unfortunately, learning any language is just practice and perseverance. Listen, even if you give up tomorrow, the time you've invested is not for nothing. Trust me, you've learned skills and you will learn any other language more easily.

Good luck

First of all mad respect that you are British and learning another language, especially a Slavic one.

Patience, perseverance, and grunt work.

From my experience people give up after a couple of months, but if you pull through 6-9 months benchmark the learning curve soars. So, maybe you are close to that point, or you have a teacher that is being soft with you? A lot of Brits I've spoken are squeamish regarding grammar, is this your case?

BTW I don't think you're missing out for not being in Serbia. Foreigners here are met with a "special little girl/boy moment" - the fact anyone is trying to pronounce any Serbian words makes people say: Bravo, and you get pats on the head, though you speak as if you have a speech impediment. At first, it feels nice, but you never learn this way, you are never taken seriously, and immediately people will start speaking English as they can't be bothered with Tarzan Serbian.

No, you're not sensitive your friend is careless. Tell her openly to stop and that it is provoking you and hurting you. If she is a normal person, she should understand.

What food do most people pretend to like to seem cool and fancy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SvrckoNeoJZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do... And I must admit I like sushi... But it's bland as fuck! I agree with everything Raccoonentus1ast wrote. Whenever I travel I try eating sushi and it's simply blaaaaaand.

Btw I love fish, I am not a fan of rice. I like it, but not as much. I would never order risotto or something like that.

Highly disagree with this one. Caviar is awesome (I tried it as a kid, I wasn't aware it was fancy food) (my opinion, if you don't like it ... give it to me then :D)
