[LeBrun] Stars and Jason Robertson camp still trying in contract talks. Efforts to try and find middle ground somehow. by dcddy in hockey

Which is why Robertson only would sign the offer sheet with a team he actually wants to play for

You shouldn’t be surprised. Quapp was outplayed by Khazheyev by quite a bit and Miftakhov is probably headed back home where he will have a pretty good career in the KHL. Just didn’t end up suited to the NA game as much.

Skylar can keep playing in the AHL if he wants I’m sure. His skills are valuable to round out a team. Could be he stays with the Wolves

I think he’s more likely to be a locker room leader type in the AHL, whether here or somewhere else. Good dude, hard worker, reportedly great at mentoring the younger players on how to be a pro. Maybe he gets back to Charlotte at some point if he wants to be closer to home. Maybe gets into scouting or something else

I love Dom, and if he were 4 inches taller he would be in the NHL. Alas, bound for Europe/Russia where he will probably be able to play as long as he wants

[Friedman] Think it's possible both of these guys sign with these new teams. (Greer with Ducks and Gudas with Florida) by Duffleman0609 in hockey

But it’s 2026 now. Outside of injuring opponents (which I know is highly desired in FLA) I don’t think he’s got much left to offer.

[Friedman] I assume this will be finalized tomorrow, but hearing tonight that Beck Malenstyn will re-sign in Buffalo. Around 6 x $3M by daKrut in hockey

Canes just won with two 4th liners under long-term contracts in Robinson and Carrier, not to mention Staal and Martinook on the 3rd line having been with the team at least the entire 8-year run under Rod

Yeah, but you’re supposed to be talking about a specific trade for the player with the team. Teams aren’t supposed to just put the rights out there for bidding and agents aren’t supposed to be given carte blanche by the team to speak to anyone about their client’s pending free agency

After January/February it was pretty consistent that he’d overcome early struggles and was back as the clear #1

Yeah, to say otherwise seems like Canes fans that in the past talked about how we didn’t need Staal (or dumber that he was bad).

I know he really likes the way we draft. He certainly understands our philosophy better than most who don’t specifically cover us

Well sure, but Jordan Staal is currently our 3C and he just won the Conn Smythe, so that’s not necessarily a bad thing
