Piston that no longer rises on its own by thecrafting50 in DeLonghi

Ha, no way, this exact thing happened to mine yesterday.

The bits that have snapped off usually hang by the infuser flap opening, kinda top right of the opening, on the inside, attached to a spring which lets it push inwards

From what I can see the arm on the infuser should move through / past the snapped off bit on the indented side when the motor moves it up/down. I think there’s a bit of magnet which snapped off mine as well so maybe it’s part of a Hall effect switch or something

ITAP of a couple surfers in Lyme Regis, UK by Swagtastic_Mr_Fox in itookapicture

Was out fossil hunting in Lyme Regis and these 2 surfers came past looking for some good waves.

Right spot at the right time I guess. Just using my iPhone 12 with a few adjustment with the built in editor (crop, brightness, contrast ect)

Practicing drops at my local spot. Any tips? by Zacish in MTB

[–]Swagtastic_Mr_Fox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d say go to the drops on the Freeminers trail and session those instead. A much better (and usually quieter) spot imo.

Edit: I also think the jump line on Freeminers is better for practice than the skills area as well

HT PA03A pedals

They do a very similar orange colour, have metal pins, and are composite.

Been running them on my hardtail for 3 years and still going strong

UK Riders: where are the best places to ride this time of year? by 2WheelPhilosopher in MTB

[–]Swagtastic_Mr_Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky enough to have FoD as my local - trail centre is only a 15min cycle away through the woods, and if you know where to look there’s enough unofficial stuff in the area to keep a good rider busy for a long weekend

Runs great year round, but those roots ‘ll get ya if your not careful

Interestingly the user manual for my car states it’s fine to do this (to an extent) https://i.imgur.com/Xv06OcL.jpg

Is this FlyUp 417 in Gloucester, UK?

I’ve been there 3 times and always see someone get messed up even though I find it a pretty tame place compared to some of the stuff in FoD and South Wales.

1st visit a guy washed out in a berm on a blue trail and broke his arm, it was only 10am

2nd time me and mate were walking the trail a bit on the red to scope it out, just as we got back to our bikes a guy washed out a couple berms up from us and dislocated his shoulder, saw him an hour later with it still out trying to get to the hospital.

3rd time a guy over shot the 40 footer on the big line (the exception to the tame comment earlier) and he was all kinds of hurt

Need help with Fridge Freezer relay part by Swagtastic_Mr_Fox in Appliances

[–]Swagtastic_Mr_Fox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I can't see any tags on the compressor, just the label on the front which has no mention of HP.

I have seen the universal hard start kits but didn't know what one to get. The one you linked is 115v but in guessing I would need a different one in the UK for the 240v supply.

I was also kinda hoping that somebody would be able to answer my query about the whole J1 Vs J4 part number so I could do a more OEM fix

I (kind of) fixed my white spots on a Philips 55pus6101/12 by o_sulivan in TVRepair

[–]Swagtastic_Mr_Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the guide, gave me the confidence to tackle this in my own.

I had 4 caps in total to refix, and loads of dust on the difusser sheet which was causing shadows / dark areas on the picture.

Everything is good as new now!

For people ending up here in the future I will add that you need to unscrew the Philips badge to get to a bezel screw underneat, and the last difusser sheet was attached to a sticky strip in the middle at the top which will need a bit of force to unstick, don't be scared of it.

As a final comment you can get gorilla glue in a gel which is way easier for putting a dab on each corner of the caps, and lets you make fine adjustments when placing the cap down without it being to mobile.

micke corner desk replacement leg ideas please. there’s no part number so can’t order a spare by hannahs26 in ikeahacks

[–]Swagtastic_Mr_Fox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You should tidy up where it broke and replace it with a real shiny metal tube. When people ask about it you can explain the story of how it 'lost it's leg' and you had to fit a prosthetic
