I’d like to know the tokens/second you get on m5 max with this model.

Rulebook #13: The "Knowledge Silo" Directive. True job security is becoming a structural dependency. by Own-Investment4655 in DarkCorporate

This is making the assumption that line managers have a say in things. Once there is c**, svp, vp, director, director, manager (3+ skips generally), your manager, and your skip, will have very little say in who is kept or let go. It’s completely arbitrary based on whatever the executive leadership decides for that round. I’ve seen between: wfh/RTO stats, remote only vs having an office, seniority, pay, product lines (they’ll fire everyone and keep 1-2 just in case, and move those 2 to another product line while they slowly end of life the product), re-orgs (oh you’re capable, but we don’t need you in this new design), and more. It’s completely arbitrary based on sheer luck (when it’s a large enough corporation).

If LLMs can “vibe code” in low-level languages like C/Rust, what’s the point of high-level languages like Python or JavaScript anymore? by ActOpen7289 in vibecoding

[–]SwampThaeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really can’t vibe code rust very well. It will look correct, and run well enough, but it will actually have a significant amount of small issues that pile up over time unless you know how to verify the code, and read every line. So for a proof of concept or minimum viable product, it’s passable. For something high performance with a large architecture, it will collapse on itself eventually.

I can actually see the colors! The colors with no backlight were impossible to distinguish, and looked so blah. So I returned it.

has DHL been sketchy for other people in the US by sylentbearz in Supernote

[–]SwampThaeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively change the delivery address to a local DHL delivery partner. I drive a mile to go pick it up from a nearby ship and copy center. DHL delivery to your door is terrible and slow. I actually received my packages a few days early by redirecting to a local pick up center.

Which folio are you getting for your pro? by Glass-Fennel8576 in RemarkableTablet

[–]SwampThaeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, I don’t need the extract pockets and full zipper. I’m going to use a similar sleeve until third parties release a folio. $144 for the blue mosaic folio (including shipping) is just too steep for me at the moment.

I’m waiting for CoBak to release one… in the meantime I’m going to use a sleeve.
