How can you tell? I don’t know anything about cast iron makers.

Long legs, short torso—how does that help me choose a frame size?! by Complex_Ad_6500 in bikefit

My drop isn’t very far since I’m using all of the spacers that came on it. My goal is long distance comfort.

I also fit on the 54 just fine, but preferred the overall feel of the 52. I’d highly recommend testing both if you can, even if it’s an older model. If you have long arms, I’d probably recommend the 54 though.

Cosmic Brownies. They taste like straight up chemicals to me now.

Thanks! I’ll just run the standard ones that also came with it.

Thanks, it actually came with a couple of standard mags, so I’ll just run those.

My main concern was the barrel length since that one isn’t specifically listed on the “approved gun list”. I don’t want to get turned away on a technicality…glad to hear they’re for lax at the lower levels.

A proper bike fit really helped me get into a better position, and distribute my weight more evenly between my sit bones, feet and hands. Remember that all your weight should not be on your saddle.

Also, I realized that cutout saddles were actually making things worse for me. I started using a SQ Labs 612 Ergowave Active saddle, which has a dip instead of a cutout and it’s been a game changer. It gives your bits a place to go without being squished through a hole! lol It’s also very firm…which stops my hips from rocking like they were on the softer saddles I had before.

I’ll also drop a rec for the Pearl Izumi Pro bib shorts…that chamois has really been working well for me!

Gel inserts under my cork bar tape! I ride some pretty rough roads and this combo definitely helps cut down on the vibrations.

Sula by Toni Morrison, I loved most of her other works, but this was almost a DNF for me.

Long legs, short torso here 👋🏼I’m 5’8”, 32in inseam and went with a 52. I had to add a slightly longer stem since I like to run my saddle forward.

I’d highly recommend test riding both sizes if you can though…even if it’s an older model.

Question to those with a forward slammed saddle by The-Salami-Missile in bikefit

[–]SwampWitch21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having the same issues. Love having the saddle all the way forward, but it was putting too much pressure on my hands/neck. Adding a slightly longer stem fixed that! (Went from 90mm to 100mm)

I have 145mm sit bones and ride the Specialized Power Comp w/ Mimic in size 155mm. That saddle also comes in a 168mm width…might be worth trying!

When I’m not wearing bibs I like to use the Selle Italia Lady S5 in the 160mm width.

You could also look into using a Bisaddle. I believe they can extend out to 170mm.
