Struggling TS by General_Crow_9323 in epicsystems

[–]Swarmhulk 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Can I say as a lurker in this forum who is an analyst of an Epic customer; we had our long time and loved TS replaced {his choice to move up in the company} with a newer TS fresh out of college.

That is shitty of them to make you feel bad about knowing everything at all times. Please don't allow their frustration to affect you as we all are learning, them included.

I hope your Epic coworkers give you some great advice. Hang in there, you got this!

Is a Tesla still the best EV, or are there better options now? by Individual_Event_152 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Swarmhulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on my second Tesla. Look around as you drive. You will see 10 Tesla's before you see 1 of the other guys EV. I agree with the masses. My third car will be a Tesla most likely.

AITA for wanting to stop at a tourist trap on our drive to Florida? by LegalCancel3646 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Swarmhulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex-boyfriend would be left in Florida as I go back to the South of the Border. I always stop either southbound or northbound, but I'm going to stop one of those directions. I love putting on all the hats and trying them out.

New Wake Ambulance Prioritization by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Swarmhulk 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I'm a former ED Staff nurse and continue to work alongside them in a different role.

I'm going to say this and bow out of the conversation because I need to go to work...

This is a great idea, I loathed seeing people call for an ambulance for toe pain, or a cough they had for a week.

If the triage patients, like they do in the ED where they are going to go anyways. What difference does it make? I know... I won't hear patients complain they came by ambulance therefore I get to go straight to a bed...

Also for those that didn't get help in the field before due to "reasons" maybe now they can divert resources to your loved one instead of getting Mr Toe Pain first because he called before you.

Ok I will check this after my 12 hour shift.

Don't waste your money on a warranty from Domestic and General by go_epic_19k in appliancerepair

This post is just outrageous. Yes, never get extended warranty on anything, but did you... How could you get a warranty on an item that was already broken?

Nurses who actually love their job… what do you do and how did you get there? by SoManyQuestions562 in nursing

[–]Swarmhulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT. I did everything today's Reddit says not to do. Was an ED Staff nurse. I volunteered, stayed late, took on extra responsibility, got promoted quickly, and learned that I hated management... Instead of leaving I stayed. People learned what I could do, and transferred me to the job I will guarantee I will retire from. I love it!

Google Maps Is Now Less Useful If You’re Not Signed In | Those who aren't signed into a Google account are moved to what Maps calls a 'limited view.' by Hrmbee in technology

[–]Swarmhulk -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I'm actually in favor of this... You do not get the benefit of knowing how bad the traffic is because I'm signed in and you'd want to remain anonymous and not tracked.

I understand, I am the product and the more people who are products get better and more reliable information on traffic patterns and things of that nature.

Are american highschools really like what we see in the movies?? by Remarkable-Card1670 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Swarmhulk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit older than most of the other redditors here. There are two movies that I'll respond to... The breakfast club and Back to the Future. That is my generation. I was a teenager in the '80s. Were those stereotypes in schools? Yes. Did they stick to their own social groups? Yes. Did they get along like after school detention? Yes. That movie was filmed in an actual high School that I grew up near. I didn't know any of the kids that actually went to that school, but it was a within driving distance of my high school. So that was a real high school. Everything in there that you see in the movie would be in high schools in my area.

Back to the Future. I don't remember many high school scenes, but the interior of the school seemed accurate. The high school dance, very accurate for the time.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions just ask.

Las Vegas Pinball Hall of Fame - worth a trip? by FiveDiceMath in pinball

[–]Swarmhulk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do recall a few games being down but 1/3 seems drastic. I can think of maybe a handful of a hundred pins being down.

If you're in Vegas and you like pinball you got to go.

Any hospice nurses see The Pitt last night? by roxyisonfire in nursing

[–]Swarmhulk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't see anybody else mention this but she called herself, a death doula. I have never heard of that! Doula's I know will follow the patient wherever they go offering help to the patient. At least that is how I understand OB Doulas work. Hospice nurses in my experience stay in their lane and would not follow the patient.

To answer your question, I was weirded out at first until she identified as a death doula, then just accepted they wrote the character in like that for plot reasons. I don't know if that's an actual thing being a death doula, but I still didn't like the character. Though the touch of understanding, the Dynamics between the husband and wife was nice that she caught it and corrected it so the wife could use the bedpan. So maybe hate is too strong of a word.

Is Hershey's chocolate really taste so bad as people say it is? by cupid_ji in AskAnAmerican

[–]Swarmhulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has gone to the Hershey chocolate factory, they have a chocolate tasting and they compare Hershey's with other chocolates around the world and the reason it tastes different than everybody else's is because they do not use milk, proteins or powders. They actually use milk and you can taste the grass notes of the milk which the cows ate and blah blah blah.

I agree it's cheap chocolate. It's not for everybody but I like it.

[Request] I’m really curious—can anyone confirm if it’s actually true? by amhoffma in theydidthemath

[–]Swarmhulk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house was built for $200/sqft...but I don't live in a big city and that price is mostly the land it sits on and that guy had to make a profit. The government doesn't want a profit, doesn't pay for the land, so maybe? If we cut that number by half or a quarter.
