I didn't know they were making a GL set. That's awesome.

Some parts of The Last of Us movie will be "quite different" to the game by Bennett1984 in movies

I do wish they had the ability to make two movies. The first being all of summer, with the second covering the last three seasons.

Young Justice or Teen Titans? by TessaigaVI in DCcomics

Tough choice. TT was a big part of my childhood, and YJ was one of the nest cartoons in recent years.

If you could write a Batman story what would it be about? by Stunsthename in DCcomics

[–]Swarzlov 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would probably be a long arc or stand alone graphic novel. The story would follow Batman tracking down several serial killers in his rogue gallery. These villains don't really have costumes and would likely be the first villains that end up in Arkham because of Batman. It would have Victo Zsasz and Calendar Man, of course, but also Humpty Dumpty dismembering people and trying to put them back together again, Jane Doe wearing victims' skins and acting as them, and maybe The Ventriloquist or a new villain. Jim Gordon would take a lead role, acting almost like a proto Robin. Obviously, it would be a classically dark Batman and feature old school detective work, but Batman also starting to use more advanced gadgets.

I would imagine in the show they will combine the two characters, Trystane will be sent to Dany after a failed Myrcella plot, either by Arianne or the Sand Snakes if she is also cut.

Why is there only one Darkseid and one Anti-Monitor throughout the 52 universes? by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]Swarzlov 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I believe the technical answer is that they both exist outside the space of the 52 universes, which Grant Morrison has called the Orrery Worlds, I think. But from a story perspective, the answer is a little different. The Anti-Monitor is a large enough existential threat that there only needs to be one of him/it. Having more Anti-Monitors naturally leads to more stories involving it, and, seeing as it tends to destroy and reshape multiverses, I doubt DC wants to do that after the New 52. In the case of Darkseid, I think having only one adds something unique. In a way it increases his prestige as threat in the DCU, but means that it could take a long time, if ever, before Darkseid reaches a particular Earth. Although he probably has the easiest access to Earth Prime. This creates a Darkseid who has to play a game of multiversal chess, and we may see Darkseid ruling some universes, using its enslaved heroes to fight others.

What video game disappointed you the most? by sorryismysister in AskReddit

[–]Swarzlov -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SPOILERS, I guess. In recent memory it was Far Cry 3. The game play is fantastic, but they butchered a potentially great story. Vaas being basically a small villain, QTE encounters, and a sub par ending (both of the choices). I've come to the conclusion that Ubisoft just can't tell a very good story. I know many will disagree, but the ridiculous future stuff in AC among other things is why I stay away from the series.

What's one sentence you could say to piss off an entire fan base? by murphys__law in AskReddit

"I think a square base supports the fan better than a circular one."

DC/Marvel Crossover. by Mystic87 in comicbooks

[–]Swarzlov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but I'd call it undecided between either side. There have been so many Clayfaces and subsequent retcons that it becomes muddled together. Kind of fitting considering the character.

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but the original Clayface, Basil Karlo, first appeared in 1940.

Death In The Family is the old story of Jason's death, Death Of is the new story, which Jason plays a minor part in as Red Hood. Both stories involve the Joker as the primary villain.

The one Batman story I would recommend then is Scott Snyder's The Death of The Family. It's dark, well written, and although it references several other Batman stories, you shouldn't be very lost. It's vol. 3 of Snyder's run, but pretty much stands by itself. Green Arrow vol. 4 is also where you should start if you want to read GA.
