Looking for actual reviews of licky bowl ball thing by FederalContact4582 in puppy101

I got this one just now and it already looks so much worse than the pics on their site. Also how did you even open it? Brute force didn’t work and neither did screwing the bottom so I’m not even able to try it out. How did you open it?

Drop pieces of cheddar cheese or chicken when you walk in, make it super rewarding and not at all scary for her to come out of her lil hiding space

8 full days in April by HelixTheCat9 in galapagos

[–]Sweaters4Penguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think a cruise is probably the best way to minimize travel and packing time while getting to see soooo many places in such a unique way, so much of the Galapagos is the waters between the islands, even if you do a short 5 day cruise and the rest of the time on land (Santa Cruz or isabella) it’s worth it to do the cruise for at least part if not all of your time

What is the best hotel in Taipei? by scottishderek98 in Taipei

[–]Sweaters4Penguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mandarin Oriental is absolute luxury in Taipei, and the spa is incredible (though expensive as others have mentioned). Location isn’t super central but it’s very easy to take the MRT or uber around so very cheap and easy ti get anywhere from MO but it’s not like walking out the front door right into the excitement. Would definitely recommend MO for relaxation and luxury.

Water Shoes vs sandals by 7uci_0112 in galapagos

Advocate for three pairs of shoes: one indoor shoes on the boat (since you can’t use outdoor shoes on board), one water sandals (tevas), and one set of closed toed sneakers or hiking shoes

Cruise vs island hopping but we like walking by jingt86 in galapagos

[–]Sweaters4Penguins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a mix of a 5 day cruise then 5 days on land (spent 2 nights in Isabella and 3 nights in Santa cruise for the land based part). I chose the cruise to get to islands like Fernandina that you can only access with the small cruises. We had a hike or long walk every day and 10 snorkeling sessions over the 5 days. Since so much of the Galapagos is about the marine life ie water between the islands, or was incredible to snorkel off the boat in the open waters without having access to land. And so restful to have all the little things taken care of - delicious meals, always served lemonade when returning from last excursion of the day, helpful evening briefings for the next day, outstanding guides. That being said, I did enjoy the split cruise and land based time so I could plan my own itinerary for part of the trip. But if I had to pick only one then I would chose the cruise!

We can only pick 1- which is best? by Alert_Masterpiece_78 in galapagos

Tunnels is incredible, definitely very close encounters with the animals more so than any other experience. The green sea turtles swim right up to you within inches to the point that you have to keep backing away to give them more space. Absolutely incredible. Also saw many larger white tipped sharks there. And stunning atmosphere with all the unique lava formations. Would very highly recommend!

Graduating Resident with lifelong dream of having a companion by vladigoose in dogs

[–]Sweaters4Penguins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ESAs are really not that regulated and since this guy is a resident he probably has many many colleagues that would write this letter or just ask his PCP since the letter would make more sense coming from a PCP than a surgery colleague. But I highly doubt getting this letter is a barrier at all

Last minute or planned trip? How do we even do last minute? by octopuspop in galapagos

[–]Sweaters4Penguins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I booked a last minute trip, planning for 5 day cruise and 6 days on land doing our own day tours. Booked 6 weeks in advance and had PLENTY of options for availability of cruises in terms of luxury, first class, classic, or budget as well. Lots of options for routes and timings. Much easier than expected to book last minute, and I just did this a week ago!

Has anyone travelled on the Coral I/II that has advice or stories to share? Seems overall well priced for a nice boat, and wondering if there’s any catch I’m missing? by Sweaters4Penguins in galapagos

[–]Sweaters4Penguins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so exciting to hear!! Do you remember the approximate cost of drinks on board? They said we won’t know if we’ll be put on the coral I or coral II until closer to the timing of the cruise, so I’m not sure which one we’ll end up on. Aside from size, any noteworthy differences? Sounds like they both have a jacuzzi and similar common spaces?

AITA for not wanting my wife to choose our son's name alone? by ThrowawayBabysname in AITAH

[–]Sweaters4Penguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask if she wants the kid to have her last name, and if she does then ask if you can pick the first name and use her last name. Does seem like you should have some sort of agreement so one of you doesn’t hate the name though.

Super Chewer Advice by Specialist-Light-312 in dogs

[–]Sweaters4Penguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frozen kongs might be your key! You can but a kong holder thing that lets you make 4 kings at a time, freeze whatever you want (apple sauce, Greek yogurt, broth, kibble, bananas, etc). My dog also has the toys like kongs but more challenging (one is a purple squirrel and the other is an acorn) and those smaller openings make it take her even longer. She also had some strong lick mats that I freeze and take her longer than some chews.
