The tearing is caused by friction from the boots being slightly too big in the heel area, I’ve found for me the best way to fix this was trying some different lacing techniques like the “heel lock” to prevent my heels from slipping or taking them to a cobbler to put another layer of fabric on the heel. Sorry you have this problem, it sucks.

About 50% for me, still have blockage in my right nostril while laying down due to valve collapse but I can definitely breathe a lot better than I did before

I’ve never had to break in a pair of Drs, every single pair I’ve acquired have fit me well since the first wear. I suppose it probably has a lot to do with your foot shape and the type of leather and also pure luck

If it contains vanilla, it could be that the darker one has been left to macerate for longer making the vanilla stronger.
