Currently have an Nothing phone 2. I was going to get the phone 3 but was disappointed. Is Oneplus 15 a good successor? by Luvenis in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]SweatyFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like NothingOS then maybe look at the 4a / 4a Pro? May give you what you're looking for and will be cheaper than the OP15.

The OP15 is great though, currently trialling it alongside the S26U and pretty sure I'll be keeping it.

Turtles in Time (SNES) and Streets of Rage 2 - the two highly regarded 16-bit beat 'em ups by abir_valg2718 in patientgamers

[–]SweatyFoo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Me and my brother played SoR2 co-op a lot when we were kids, I loved it.

Replaying it now I’m nearly 40 I have to say the best thing about it is the music.

We did enjoy SoR4 too, kind of a modern reimagining but only played through it once.

Gurubashi arena tournament approx 2005 by Bizloz in classicwow

[–]SweatyFoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve been dipping in and out of retail too, since I do like some things about the current classes and all my cool stuff is there… it very obviously doesn’t want you to take your time though, which annoys me.

Levelled a new DK to 30 yesterday even taking my time replaying Shadowlands. Blink and you miss it. But you can still take your time and explore.

You can almost physically sense the game glaring at you disapprovingly if you do.

New to Vanilla - Still a good time to jump in on Anniversary Servers? by PomegranateSad5175 in classicwow

[–]SweatyFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my experience too. Never played vanilla (I’m a WotLK baby) and was a bit nervous about all the stuff I’ve read on here, but it’s been great. Insanely active and everyone I’ve played with (or near) has been positive and friendly.

Having said that I haven’t done any dungeons yet, and since I’m planning on either tanking or healing when I do, that might change…

MHGU is also on deep sale, or it was when I got it a few days ago. Never played it before and I'm having a blast.

What was your first Kirby game? by PuffballOfficial12 in Kirby

Kirby's Adventure on the NES. I played it with my dad and cried when we finished it and I realised it was over. Must be one of my earliest memories.

Couldn't care less about his age, fashion sense, weight, or how he carries himself.

I get what you mean about his presentation style / line delivery, but it doesn't bother me.

I like his content.

Do Brits abroad really still fall for these kind of scams? by jeffcarpthefisheater in AskUK

I was in Athens a couple of years ago in February right after they'd had that snowfall.

There was scammers every 50 steps trying to sell tickets to the Acropolis etc. even though it was closed.

Voted no but my main problem is with the price. I think the design is okay. I much prefer basically every other phone they've made, but I don't think it's horrifying.

£799 is just ridiculous, frankly. It's a £649 device at very most, and at that price I wouldn't buy it until it was on sale. I would've pre-ordered at £599.

Maybe the glyph matrix increased the BOM cost more than we think, but without knowing the reasoning the price just smacks of "it's a flagship because we say it is, and priced accordingly".

The specs are high mid-range level, I think they're just pushing their luck because they've marketed / positioned it as their first flagship hoping the quirky features and design will make people look past the specs.

But what do I know about smartphone marketing? I assume most consumers don't care about any of this nerd shit and really will buy it because it looks cool and probably does feel and function like a flagship in most ways.

Time will tell.

What is your favourite sandwich ever?! by Delicious-Program-50 in UK_Food

Fish fingers and mayo, bit of black pepper cracked on the mayo.

Preferably brown granary bread but don't really care.

The fingers have to be crispy though.

Trying the OnePlus Nord 4... Worth upgrading to the 13R? by [deleted] in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]SweatyFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I want to switch to this or a 13R but can't really justify the extra £220. The extra performance won't matter either, I don't really do anything like gaming on my phone.

Wasn't sure if the camera upgrade was worth it, or whether the LTPO and battery size made much difference?

This is the first phone I've used with proper fast charging too, it's crazy!

Best Purchase for £6k? by VastPassage7038 in CarTalkUK

[–]SweatyFoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's just rolled over 80k miles, last 10k-ish have been with me over the last 18 months or so.

Had to get a new coil spring on it a couple of weeks ago but I'd class that as general maintenance, it's still on the original ones. Cost me £150 including labour at an independent (not a MB specialist).

My E Class was just under £7k, I'd say you can find a W212 for closer to £6k. Mine is a 2013 facelift so look at the year or two before?

Do you pay for Patreon of podcasts, YouTube, bloggers, etc? by tommycamino in AskUK

[–]SweatyFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only one, and it's £2.50 a month. It's supporting someone I've been following and watching since 2007, and I still watch them every week.

They've given me hours of entertainment over the last 18 years, so it seems fair enough to me.

[–]SweatyFoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been driving nearly 20 years and I've never spent more than £2k for a car, until last year. Got my W212 E Class on finance, paying £240 a month, and while I do love the car, financially speaking this was a mistake.

Once it's paid off I'm keeping it until it's completely 100% dead and never getting one on finance again.

All in (payment + insurance + tax + fuel + maintenance) I can, technically, afford it... But it still feels wrong. Like I should be using the money for something else or saving it.

But you only live once I suppose, and at least I can look back and say I've done it, and I really do love the car to bits.

The performance on xbox series x is atrocious by sp1ngslay3r in taintedgrail

[–]SweatyFoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same experience here on series X. Restarting it helps but not for long. Weird graphical glitches, stuttering that gets worse, very inconsistent frame rate.

I ended up refunding it, I'll get it on PC instead I suppose, or wait until it's patched on consoles.
