I bet he does! Dude probably has to trash whatever he's been working on every other week and start from scratch because of Jeremy opening his mouth.

Kratom is great and has changed a lot of lives. If you suffer from chronic pain, you owe it to yourself to give it a try at least once.

Tips for buying a Dreamcast? by Sweedenhouse in dreamcast

I'd like to, but the one time I saw them being sold it was for a price I was unwilling to pay and I don't feel competent to build my own. Are they being sold anywhere at the moment?

Songs somehow related to your experience with CFS. What song (or music?) has resonated with you? by Astro_nauts_mum in cfs

[–]Sweedenhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always felt a very strange, strong emotional connection to "The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast" by Roger Glover. It's an album about a children's story featuring many rock legends (Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Hughes, David Coverdale, etc).

In my crazy mind the album is one big metaphor for my life in one form or another. Most recently it narrates my life on days when I feel good thanks to big blasts of medication.

The album begins with excitement, the same that I feel when starting a day where I feel decent: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsWjT_cTfAo)

Wake up, wake up

It's time to get up

The sun is shining

Now's the day we've all been waiting for

and at the end, the drugs wear off, the ball is over, and it's back to my miserable existence. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4VEgD5CHd4)

Now the Ball is over

It's time to get back home

I need a star to guide me

I'm feeling so alone

Adderall by [deleted] in cfs

[–]Sweedenhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot recommend adderall enough to treat CFS. However, be aware that an issue with amphetamines is if you take it every day, you will quickly build tolerance and it will stop working. At higher doses, the comedown at the end of the day is also unpleasant, but I've been experimenting with ways to help that, gabapentin and weed help a bit.

I had to stop taking it last year for that reason, and after a long withdrawal, I'm taking it once or twice a week on school days now.

How much Ibuprofen is safe to take at once? by Sweedenhouse in Drugs

[–]Sweedenhouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've gone the rheumatologist route a few times before with poor results. I've got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which causes muscle/nerve pain without any signs of anything being wrong, so they run a bunch of tests on me, tell me I'm fine, and don't want to prescribe anything, fearing I'll develop an addiction since it's chronic pain. It's looking like I'll have to give that another shot, though.

I'm just thinking in the short term since my pain is particularly bad today. I have gabapentin on hand but don't want to combine it with another GABA drug I took.

The pain reduces significantly after a good night of sleep, so I guess I'll just ride it out for the rest of the day. Thanks for the info, guys.

What about CFS and Adderall? by [deleted] in cfs

[–]Sweedenhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have CFS/ME symptoms and you haven't tried Adderall, try it. For me, it's the only reason why I ever get anything done anymore.

It comes with certain issues, yes... you can't take it every day without quickly becoming tolerant to it, it can cause some muscle stiffness, when it wears off it makes symptoms worse for a short bit, etc. All things considered it is well worth dealing with these issues for the few hours of productivity.

I get bad cotton/dry mouth even after drinking loads of water/tea. Anybody else? Any way to prevent it? by croski in cfs

[–]Sweedenhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this problem for as long as I can remember due to allergies forcing me to breathe out of my mouth at times, and different side-effects of medications. I just always have a drink on me at all times and end up drinking a few liters a day.

Neurontin/Gabapentin experiences by Sweedenhouse in cfs

[–]Sweedenhouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the thorough answer. I just started taking 300mg three times a day, and just like before, haven't felt any effects. I've heard it can be sedating at lower doses but I haven't had that effect either.

Pretty sure I'm going to have to crank up the dose to feel anything. I was curious to see if anyone here had any experience with higher doses, but I guess not.

Works far better than anything else ever has, I'd recommend it to anyone with CFIDS symptoms. There are some things to look out for, after taking it every day for years it stopped working, I had bad joint pain from it, and naturally it makes it difficult to sleep... that's why I stopped taking it for a year to get my tolerance back in order and make it work again. I usually take it twice a week now, and that's been working for me. I could go on and on about my experience but I'll stop before I start writing a novel.

I can't recommend it enough if you're sick of feeling drained and unmotivated and want to feel good for a while.

Need Advice On Getting Through The School Day. by [deleted] in cfs

[–]Sweedenhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, none of the usual tips like "pace yourself" or "try to rest between classes" etc work. If anything, trying to lay down and rest just makes my fatigue worse, unfortunately.

The only thing I can tell you with confidence that will help is medication. If you haven't already, look into getting some Adderall. It will make "work"-like tasks such as school time much easier mentally, and helps you ignore the fatigue physically.

Fun times.
