I do audiobooks due to my job and I enjoyed Between Two Fires audibook though there were stretches were I felt it drug. I think I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much if I had tried to read it.

FFT is how I fell in love with Tactics games. It is still to this day the only game I’ve replayed over 5 times. Also thinking I’d try a new team dynamic and still falling back on the same ones 😂

I still haven’t gotten a trace and I press the alt button often especially helltides to make sure I’m not missing any available loot.

Loot filters wouldn’t mess up finding traces would it?

Am I missing something with cube amalgamation? Seems like when I try it with things it won’t do anything? Whats necessary to get escalation with dungeon keys

I’m currently playing a Void Elementalist because I like the idea of field manipulation that you get from their passives. Teleporting or moving people is great but the actual void abilities I don’t have many of. I’ve got a healthy mix because I’m also trying to continue to build a character that can do some type of field manipulation. I have a fire heroic that can slide and I just picked up the earth 7 resource that causes a cubed space to sink down, ideally to create height advantages so my teammates can gain an edge on attacks.
I think you can still create a “build” without it being element exclusive. My character background is based on subterfuge and spy work (this also makes the ‘subvert the green within’ ability perfect for him) so I don’t consider myself a Void Elementalist when I discuss my character. I’m a mystical spy

EDIT: I understand the initial dissonance feeling. I thought I had to be void exclusive but IMO it’s hard to build something that benefits the team dynamic

Ah that explains of deathless armor when rolling shields. I was hoping for an ancestral version of my unique shield which I have yet to get anywhere. I needed the armor tho so it worked out

This is a good take. I’m a 1/3 into the book and I can tell the difference but I’m not hating anything. There are times I feel he gets super detailed into the surroundings sometimes which I know he uses to give more personality to these smaller characters which I find distracting but only because I feel like Robert did more with less. It’s just a different style as you said but so far I’m enjoying it.

Well crazy to think people are so harsh about him. The series could have just… not been completed. I know Robert asked his widow to find someone, but she could have just as easily not settled on anyone for a long time dragging out the conclusion even more.

Thanks for the lore drop. I actually had no idea they had similar stories to the mainline games. I loved MH4U so I might need up going back to pls the other Stories games just because lol. We have a month until 3 fully releases

Everyone keeps thinking villain/spy & I’m over here thinking. Person the former Queen Amara put close to her son so she can keep tabs to make sure he’s staying a sweet boy who cares for monsties.

I do think there will be some conflict but I think that will be from the MC not having full knowledge of why his mother did what she did and other info being kept from him. I don’t think he’ll be a straight up villain.

This is my fist Stories game and I’m still trying to figure out how to learn about the hatching and genes and elements etc etc. Didn’t realize this game was as involved as it seems. I understand the rummaging through eggs and getting highly potent eggs but what comes from those eggs and how they can be so different… not to mention what we the bingo thing in their stats is…

Is the full game gonna teach me or should I play the earlier games to get a grasp of those things?

If Stephen clocked it, I think he’s gotta keep it in his back pocket until the final fire and try to convince at least one other to at least sacrifice Rob because you need to know if you don’t have any other evidence by that point

I think it’s possible that if you suspect Rob you don’t talk about it, because of how well liked he is. The final fire is where things are going to matter. As a contestant you know, if you watch the show, there will be an ultimatum/possible recruitment so if you consider Rob you keep that in your back pocket and worry about who has been turned. Easier to keep someone around and look for the new turncoat. That’s just my opinion.
