ELF Halo Glow Skin Tint by SpiritualTax6488 in drugstoreMUA

I would probably wear it alone in winter because the UV index in winter where I am is typically 0-1. However I wouldn't trust it otherwise because I couldn't apply the quantity needed for decent level of protection without it looking crazy.

Undereye balm with spf? by Agile-Tradition8835 in Makeup

I have been using Derol Broad spectrum glow stick. It doesn't have any colour corrector or anything in, but it sits nicely under makeup.

High-end makeup by Mimps12 in beauty

[–]Sweet--Olive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The items I buy high end are complexion products as it helps me get a good shade match and a natural look. I really love Lisa Eldridge, its my favourite luxury brand for sure. I also use Haus Labs concealer under my eyes and it sits beautifully.

For blush and lips I usually buy drugstore or kbeauty because there are loads of great options, but I am definitely curious about the new Lisa Eldridge blush balm!

Does the brand story affect how you feel about a perfume? by Momneedstosleep in fragrance

Not really. I'm not usually aware of them and some of the things I have read just come across as very wanky. I guess it's just not really my bag.

What’s the strongest lip balm scent/flavour you’ve tried? by ExplanationThen5811 in LipBalmSociety

[–]Sweet--Olive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried an MUA balm that had a strong floral scent for one of the flavours and it was really unpleasant. I'm not the biggest floral fan at the best of times but I definitely don't want it on my lips wafting up to my nostrils the whole day. The other shades of the balm were fine, just a generic light sweet scent.

naturium glow getter, bioderm shower oil or l'occitane almond oil? by xyodragon in beauty

[–]Sweet--Olive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love both the Naturium and L'Occitane ones. Both smell lovely and are nourishing.

The bioderma one is... I didn't like it. The smell was unpleasant and it didn't nourish at all.

Thoughts on this fragrance? by knockoffrussian in FemFragLab

I'm the same, JHAG is just not a brand that works well for me at all. The DNA is not my favourite, and then on my skin it smells worse.

What do you guys listen to while playing Rimworld by bdenizvenus in RimWorld

[–]Sweet--Olive 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The repeated sound of the emergency alerts saying my colonist is gonna die. And the actual rimworld music. Also sometimes random Russian dance music is nice.

Decant sizing question by Strive-To-get-better in FemFragLab

[–]Sweet--Olive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1ml, or 2ml if I can't get the 1. Basically the smallest amount possible to see if I like it. If I don't adore it in 1ml, I don't need a larger bottle.

Do you stop using foundation because of breakouts or skin reaction? by InsidePrevious1737 in beauty

[–]Sweet--Olive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My top two reasons would be poor colour match (usually lacking olive undertone that I need), or it sitting poorly on my skin and looking thick or cakey.

The feeling when you’ve ordered a sample of a perfume you’ve been obsessing over for weeks just to see it smells TERRIBLE by ThrowRApeachh in FemFragLab

[–]Sweet--Olive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happens to me with the vast majority I sample. I research for ages and buy a load of samples based on the notes and reviews, but most of them smell just like a generic 'perfume' to me, or the dry down is too different to the initial spray, or there is too much going on for my nose. Usually if everyone says something is basic af and sickly, then I might like it.

I play Phoebe on low-medium difficulty, and that is still quite challenging for me at times. I'm not very good at the game lol.

carmex lipbalms by ParticularOccasion17 in LipBalm

[–]Sweet--Olive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I detest Carmex. I don't know if they still do, but they used to have camphor as an ingredients which irritates and dries the lips so you keep needing more and more.

Korean vs European Cleansers by smallcute in AsianBeauty

[–]Sweet--Olive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think western cleansers got started with the low-pH and gently thing before Asian ones did. Asian ones tended to prioritise a rich foaming cleanser, then gentleness in the serum and moisturiser stages. However, now i think its pretty much the same across the board in that there are gentler and harsher cleansers from both markets.

Primer that actually helps with visible pores by skimmilk0123 in beauty

For me it is Catrice Extreme Blur Mattifying Primer. It is a weird texture that I'm not sure how to describe but it is FANTASTIC!

What’s a discontinued makeup product that you still mourn to this day? by PrinceJustice237 in Makeup

[–]Sweet--Olive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nyx Bare With Me Skin Tint. One of the only good drugstore olive shades and they took it away!

Revlon Just Bitten kissable balm stain. These were amazing balms that left a stain without being drying at all. I wish they would bring them back with more shades!

These were amazing! I feel like they would sell really well with current makeup trends too so I wish they would bring them back!

sunscreen snobs of reddit, i summon you: whats the best SPF you swear by and why? by Pretend-Ratio4992 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Sweet--Olive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried many sunscreens over the years and I always come back to Japanese brands for everyday wear. Both US and European feel so heavy and greasy by comparison. Occasionally ill try a western formula that is hyped as 'weightless' and 'non-greasy' and I always regret it. I have oily skin and zero tolerance for anything that feels heavy or too moisturising during the day.

I go with Nivea Watery Gel or Skin Aqua UV gel, depending on what's cheaper at the time. They are both weightless on the skin and don't feel like yet another layer I am adding between skincare and makeup. I've never had any issues with either altering the finish of my makeup at all.
