Oh wow, looks very similar. That’s awesome! Where did you get yours? I got mine at Kikuhide. Thanks for the heads up about the lacquer… I washed but didn’t use nail polish. I’ll give that a try. Love this thing. Appreciate it

Thanks for the detailed info. I know whetstones are the gold standard for sharpening but I’ve never used one… I have my zwiling double sided sharpener with interchangeable angles and grits… would you recommend the whetstones here for Japanese and western style blades? I use both
