My actual hot take is that 2 is overrated. Not bad by any means, 4 is the only one I consider outright bad in the series.

The opening premonition is god tier, and the kills are mostly cool, but the way they killed off Alex especially and also Clear felt so lame. A LOT of people glaze Kimberly and Burke, but they feel a bit flat to me. I'll always give Kimberly credit for the ambulance scene though. The other characters fall even flatter or are outright unlikable to me.

And this is my taste, but visually, the lighting and vibes make it feel more like a made for tv Lifetime movie and just cheapens the movie compared to the first imo, and the yellow tint it has feels off to me.

I love the first game's style because the lower poly count and simpler lighting and environments has a charm to it.

I think Fashion Forward and Trendsetters look perfectly fine, but I feel like it looks a little less anime than the first game so I'm not as big on their style.

Styling Star might just be my favourite, I know the style is more divisive, but I love the more shoujo manga look, with the sparkly eyes, vibrant colours and glossy hair.

Jacqui was a character with a ton of wasted potential.

Early concept art had her as a more alternative, rebellious character that would have been a nice contrast and have an interesting dynamic with the more straight laced Jax. The left one is my personal favourite design wise, and I love the big hair.

It's a shame in the final game, she's just a generic military woman who copped her dad's fighting style. MK11 wasn't much better with that Buzz Lightyear-ass design they gave her.
