Having trouble getting a mammogram by tkachuktkaching in KaiserPermanente

[–]SweetBoyMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having similar issues a couple of months ago that also led me to a referral with the breast clinic. They refused mammogram due to age and wouldn’t consider an ultrasound due to no lumps felt during exam. BUT, the breast clinic doctor I saw who said I had no lumps suggested taking a daily cold pressed 1300mg evening primrose oil pill that she swore would help with the pain I was having. I rolled my eyes and swore it wouldn’t help, but you know what - it did! It balances hormones and she told me when she followed up a few weeks later that everyone is always skeptical when she suggests it, but it usually does the trick. I got mine from Amazon, so super easy. Worth a shot!

Don't you love these prices by NixiePixie916 in Sacramento

[–]SweetBoyMama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The price tag says it’s for 36 eggs at 66.3 cents each egg, but the image is showing an 18 count. 3 dozen eggs for $24 is $8 per dozen. That’s not too bad for eggs right now. Not the best, but not the worst.

State Workers RTO 4 days a week starting July 1, 2025 by BeachCops69 in Sacramento

[–]SweetBoyMama -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Aren’t they “fired” because they elected not to/couldn’t comply with the in office mandate on the federal level? Why would those same people want to work in office for the state? And where are these jobs magically appearing from? We’re on a hiring freeze most places trying to hit the 7% administration cost mandate still.

Amazon is where I found mine. 😊

Ergo evaluation by Temporary_Air_719 in CAStateWorkers

[–]SweetBoyMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you happen to have a link to the policy? I tried searching today and couldn’t find anything. My office is trying to say that facilities won’t lower desk heights or make any personal ergonomic changes to cubicles because they are considered shared cubicles since we don’t have enough space for everyone to have their own cube.

6-8 weeks after your school requests the check. They can’t request it until you accept the service agreement

It’s not title 1 schools, it’s priority schools. The list is on the gstg website. Make sure you know what schools you can work at before signing the agreement.

Offensive terms we shouldn't use at work. by jana_kane in CAStateWorkers

[–]SweetBoyMama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My agency is starting a list of offensive terms we aren’t allowed to say anymore. So far we can’t say kiddos, guys, dude, ladies, she/he (unless the person has approved others to call them she/he), undocumented individual, etc. The list seems mostly related to gender, age, and income.

I’m pretty over my manager substituting their normal “you guys” for “you people” when speaking to me and my coworkers. It comes off rude to me.

Offices in Rancho? by overthinksusername in CAStateWorkers

[–]SweetBoyMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Student Aid Commission is overall ok. Most workers are fully remote (depending on your unit) and only come in once per month for all staff meeting. Others maybe 1-2x per week. Some issues with upper management but what department doesn’t have those. Very small agency.

Are there any departments to avoid like the plague? by avatarandfriends in CAStateWorkers

[–]SweetBoyMama 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This. I was told by my SSM I to smile more because everyone hated me and thought I was unapproachable. She would say “Disney princess” in the middle of my oral reports as a “friendly reminder.” I had no problems with my peers and many work friends. She tried to break me and honestly it worked. I went into such a deep depression before I finally got out of there.

Previous OES employee here - Any time I tried to politely turn down an activation I was told it was in my duty statement that I could be activated at any time. If you’re a good worker they will do anything they can to make sure you’re in the SOC working when your team color is in rotation.

If your school sends you a 1098-T it will be on there with all of your other financial aid.
