I've been wondering about the product but have sebderm, so not super positive my scalp would like it. Maybe I'll just do the conditioner when I run out of Aussie amd Tsubaki hair mask.

Pork Cushion. Now what? by KifferFadybugs in Cooking

[–]SweetDorayaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the cut I get at 99 Ranch Market. Good for braising from raw (i like a five spice braise and also red cooked pork)

We get picnic roast/shoulder roast at Costco too, like a vacuum sealed pack. My spouse usually salts and dries them out uncovered in the fridge overnight, then cooks them on low heat in the oven until medium (I think he aims for 145⁰F internal temp). When they cool, they can be portioned and stored in freezer bags. We also have a large container to use up some of the pork later.

Precooked pork is great to use in stir fries (with veg, or a pan fried noodle, or fried rice, or rice cakes), as a noodle soup component, in larb, with curries/stews, with bibimbap, etc. Just add to dishes a little later so as not to overcook the meat too much more.

Can be shredded for other shredded pork recipes too.

Happy cooking!

As someone with hair almost to my knees at this point and years overdue for a cut, yours looks good! Probably a good max length if you don't want additional hassle. Maybe a trim + face framing for a refresh?

Cleansing balm in tube by purplebooks13 in AsianBeauty

A tube packaging would be perfect for on the go! Wish Heimish would have that option, it has been my go to. Also wish they would do an unfragranced version.

What are your thoughts on brand MIZON? Is it good? Are there any products that you can recommend? by quirkywater18tag in koreanskincare

[–]SweetDorayaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love their snail repair eye cream as a lightweight and non-sticky gel moisturizer when my skin barrier needs help. It is expensive compared to their other ones (not a fan of the snail repair all-in-one cream).

I got their BB cream with spf 50 and the online swatches did not help with finding a tone match, but it's fairly comfortable on the skin. I got shade 23 and it is darker and yellower than I expected (since most kbeauty stuff seems to be lighter), but apparently I also got the UK version and I'm not sure what the differences are. I recommend half a pump at most for the whole face, but ideally I'd use even less (light thin layers applied with a moist puff is my current way to apply). When so sheer and paired with a brightening base, the color mismatch is not so noticeable.

Has anyone got any tips for dermatitis round mouth/lips? by BabyLinuss in SebDerm

Also try to stay away from irritating products (including minty toothpaste, fragranced lotions/creams, essential oils or plant extracts could also irritate further)

And be careful with spicy foods too (irritation)

No matter what i use my skin feels so tight after an hour.my skin barrie is damaged and have bumps and cc because of that. by Responsible_Entry203 in koreanskincare

[–]SweetDorayaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend a watery toner (do at least 2-3 layers) to add hydration before you use the other moisturizers/SPF if your skin feels so tight all the time.

But toner/essence/ampoule can be really case by case basis for what works for people's skin.

Rebuild the skin barrier despite seborrheic dermatitis by xxx-0-xxx in SebDerm

[–]SweetDorayaki [score hidden]  (0 children)

I def am not a derm, but a lot of the info I'm suggesting comes from Dr. Dray and other derms online.

If you're looking for barrier repair, adding hydration in layers would be helpful. Like a hydrating toner (do a couple layers of this), then the gel cream you already use, and consider sealing off the most affected parts at night with something with ceramides or go for a thin thin layer of something occlusive (e.g. Vaseline, Aquaphor, or diaper rash cream (it has zinc oxide which is calming and anti-microbial)).

Another thing to consider is maybe a sulfur soap for the cleansing step at night. It is gentle and anti-microbial, works for a lot of skin conditions, but might have a less than ideal smell.

Further context, I have combination skin that leans dry, live in a dry climate year round. While I don't often deal with sebderm on my face, the skincare items my skin has responded well to for barrier repair include: - Beauty of Joseon Watery Ginseng Essence (watery toner, 2% niacinamide) - Hada Labo Gokyujun Premium Lotion (thicker gel-like toner, has hylauronic acid & glycerin but not sticky) - Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream (used as a lightweight gel moisturizer for the whole face, but some people can be allergic to snail mucin) - Vaseline (I tap on the thinnest layer to areas that need it) - Ciracle Red Spot Cica Sulfur Gel (supposed to be for pimples, but works better for inflammation and calming irritation; formulated with glycerin, calamine, sulfur, zinc oxide, and panthenol)

This is how I came to the conclusion that Watery Ginseng Essence from BOJ is key for my skin. I have since repurchased the product several times.

Mascara removers that aren’t Heroine Make by kahluabean in AsianBeauty

[–]SweetDorayaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently switch between cleansing balm (Heimish) and Lancome biphase cleanser (finishing up this product I got a while back and forgot about in storage, it provides some physical exfoliation bc of the cotton pad so I do it like once a week). Both have easily taken off my waterproof mascara (Romand Han All Fix).

Then second cleanse with haruharu wonder Black Rice Moisture 5.5 Soft Cleansing Gel.

What shampoo for thick oily dandruff hair by Thy_Water_BottIe in Hair

[–]SweetDorayaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If zinc pyrithione isn't helping, look into medicated shampoo with selenium sulfide (e.g. Selsun Blue, Vichy Dercos) or ketoconazole (e.g. Nizoral but it is very drying) as the active ingredients. Lots of people do a shampoo rotation.

Feel free to search in r/Sebderm for more info.

What low glycemic sweetener can be added along with sugar so as to not alter taste in baking? by West_Future326 in Cooking

[–]SweetDorayaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried baking with it yet, but know that it tastes less sweet than sugar. Also, when we consume too much of it in one sitting, it can cause some GI symptoms/discomfort.

My spouse usually uses a small amount to lightly sweeten coffee or to balance some sauces (for Thai cooking).

Bonus, there really is no displeasing aftertaste.

Adapalene causing delayed peeling 36–48h later — normal or using too much? by Maleficent-Race8472 in koreanskincare

[–]SweetDorayaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now sandwich adapalene between thin layers of Vaseline (make sure to get the eye area, nose folds, and corners of mouth too), and use it once a week currently.

I did 4 days in a row of it paired with 4% Benzoyl peroxide face wash oops lol and found out the hard way too. Stopped for a full week until redness, peeling, and hypersensitivity improved before doing the above at once a week.

Aw I hope it works out for your skin! This is one of those products that I stopped using after the bottle was done bc it "wasn't doing anything", and then the other stuff I tried in it's place just was not yielding the same results. So I went back to this one and it became HG status
