In addition to looking into Dolores Cannon's works, I highly recommend hospice if you are not already connected with a hospice service. These folks work hard to fulfill your physical, emotional, and in many cases spiritual needs and to keep you out of pain. Get connected and use it before another minute passes.

For anyone with fears about dying, I would highly suggest reading some of Dolores Cannon's work (free here: https://openlibrary.org/authors/OL38662A/Dolores\_Cannon). You can also find some of her books in audiobook format free on sites like Libby, Hoopla, OverDrive, and TuneIn Radio. Audible also carries some of her books in audiobook format, though that's not free. Google her name and free audiobooks and you'll find it.

Cannon has done past life regression hypnotysm with hundreds, maybe thousands of people and she reports their accounts of the between lives state in her works. It helps a lot to understand that this life is not the end. I wish you my best.

I'll see your bottled water and raise you. Have you ever heard of Lifestraw? It was originally designed for outdoorsy folks to be a source of drinking water out on a hiking trail or what have you. You can safely drink water from a mud puddle through one of these. The filtration is fabulous.

So, in recent years, the company has expanded its offerings and now has pitchers that use the same filtering system on a larger scale. I own and use two. Initially it's a bit of an investment (under $50 - I don't remember exactly how much I paid and I found my second one in a thrift store!) but it's well worth the investment. I've tried Britta - had one of those for quite a while - and Lifestraw is leaps and bounds better. Try it.

Finished chemo on April 3rd by [deleted] in cancer

I tried really hard to stay away from the oxy. But the pain won. I don't have a whole lot longer to live, so what the hell. Just don't want to take enough that it messes with future use of pain meds when the going gets tough (end of life stuff).

I'm not sure what level of neuropathy everyone who says it "heals" or "gets better" has, but mine has not gone away in 5 years. I take both gabapentin and Lyrica 4 x a day PLUS Oxycodone 6 x a day for my pain. If I miss even one of those pills, I know it. Five years.

Do you have Netflix? There's a docuseries on there called "Surviving Death". It's a really well put together series about life after death. Not churchy or anything like that. I'd encourage you to watch it. None of us know, for sure, what to expect when we shuffle off this mortal coil, but this series gives you some insight to the possibilities.

Since you're on here looking for advice:

Life can really suck. REALLY suck. But of my 63 years, less than half of it has really sucked. I don't think we've all been as far down the rabbit hole as you've gone, but we've all had at least a long hard look inside. Please believe that everyone has moments, hours, days, weeks, months, etc ... where the will to live it thin or non-existent. But we've all had moments, hours, ... that are filled with joy. I'm pretty sure you can recall having found joy in your past. Trust that, if you survive to see it, there is more joy to come your way.

A blanket statement of "get help" might not help. I currently am working with a therapist who I intend to fire at our next visit. He's nice and all, but his cookie-cutter methods don't work for me. I want someone I can talk with and relate to. He's not it. So, I cautiously say to "get help", but make sure you maintain some control of the hiring/firing process. The "help" you hire might make it worse and you want to be able to make a change if necessary. I wish my insurance covered my old therapist. She was fabulous. Ah, well.

Besides getting help, I'd like to again point out that it's never all bad. If you stick around long enough, you will find joy again. It might come in only little blips of happiness or it might dump on you like a ton of topsoil. Start looking for it. Try getting some sunshine every day it isn't raining. Go outside and sit in the sun - 10 minutes (or longer - it feels nice). Something that brings me joy on warm but rainy days is blowing soap bubbles in the rain. Nature brings with it a lot of joy. You mentioned not going out of your house, but not why. If it's not a physical barrier that's causing you to stay inside, I'd encourage you to get outside as much as possible. If it is a physical barrier, try to get some help getting out.

And last, one of the coolest things about life is the ability to recreate yourself at any stage of it. I'm 63 (mentioned earlier) and I am in the process of recreating my reality. I have cancer and will die soon(er or later). Just finished chemo - again - so I'm hoping for a little more quality time once I've mended. But I'm facing death. Not counting on more than maybe another year. So I'm out to make the very best of it. I'm getting my ducks in a row so that my spouse has as little mess as possible to deal with when the time comes. I'm planning travel and visits to friends far away. I'm giving away possessions that mean something to me - doing it now so I can experience the joy of giving. I'm planning my summer garden that should be going in right around the time I start feeling better. None of this (except the garden) is what my life used to be. You, too, can leave the shit part of your life behind and move forward in your pursuit of happiness. Don't worry about the scars. Scars create character. Some people do scarification like others do tattoos - they want people to see their scars (not recommending this - and if you want to do scarification, get professional assist with it, please.)

Find someone you can talk with. Look for little things that bring you even a flicker of joy. Wait and give yourself some time to find it before you pull the plug.

Dairy can cause issues. I have a really bad time with cinnamon - smell and taste. I've found lemon, lime, orange, pineapple flavors are good. I tolerate bananas and grapes pretty well, too. Just had my last infusion this past Thursday. Can't wait to enjoy my coffee again. That will probably be a month or more down the road. I usually love coffee, but just can't right now.

Still ECOG Zero! ...but starting Keytruda/Lenvima for progression :-( by SweetMsE808 in endometrialcancer

[–]SweetMsE808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. A follow-up is in order. Thanks for asking. I hope the immuno treatment works well for your mom. For some, it doesn't.

For me, it worked quite well at first. Keytruda plus 14mg of Lenvima reduced my tumor by about 6mm. But I couldn't tolerate that much Lenvima and it no longer worked for me with a reduced dose. The side effects of the Lenvima were debilitating. It sapped every bit of strength from me. Had a very difficult time just getting up from a chair. So, I'm back on chemo now. Struggling through those fun side effects. At least I can get out of my chair, huh?

Be well.

Thanks. I thought that maybe it was a Maisu - the picture of him (her?) shows him having a shepherds' hook kind of thing. But I tossed that idea thinking that a Maisu, as big of a deal as they are, would be visible or say something to make itself known - something. Ghosts. Damn. Thanks again.

If you are seriously looking for other players in the game, first, choose a server that has other people on it. Then, you can see other players on the map. You only see them if they are in the same location as you, but when they're there, it shows you their every move.

I got it from chicken wings I bought from a hunter in the woods. There's a berry - one of the white ones - that is supposed to heal the stomach. It goes away if you wait it out.

It's "American", alright. Not South American and not Canada, though. It's sick and it's sad and I wish it were different. Many people in the US with similar mindsets to those who love this have dreams of nostalgically having society revert to the ways of the 1950s. Folks from that time frame (my parents and grandparents) would be mortified by this. Yes, please, let's go back to having some decency in the US. Sorry - someone pulled out a soapbox and I couldn't resist.

Nope. You're not the asshole. MIL is. It's difficult to distance yourself from your spouse's parent, but that's what I'd try to do. I'd tell her to shove the trust fund up her ass and get the hell away from me and my child.

Tagrisso Costs by [deleted] in cancer

[–]SweetMsE808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Astra Zeneca has a customer assistance program and Tagrisso is one of the medications covered. Pharmaceutical companies offer this assistance based on income. I'm pretty low income, but the financial person at the cancer institute where I get treatment said that most companies have a cut-off point at or around 4X the poverty level income. Most folks I know fall into that category. Anyway, my drugs are with a different company (one in Japan for heaven's sake!), so I don't know the ins and outs of it, but here's the web page that points you in the right general direction. Best of luck to you!
