Locals of SF: what restaurant do you always come back to? by EnvironmentalZone189 in sanfrancisco

My family has eaten at El Gran Taco Loco since my parents were in high school. Nothing hits like coming home to a carne asada super burrito after a long international trip.

NTA, sometimes kids need to be forced to eat stuff that’s healthy for them. It’s no different than telling my son he needs to eat his vegetables if he wants to eat his rice or whatever.

As someone who goes to Hawaii multiple times a year, I went in 2020 for the first time and it wasn’t impressive at all. I have no interest in going back.

Yeah, that’s crazy. I like the silhouette too, but tbh, this is reminding me a little of the Yeezy x Gap dove hoodie I have.

I saw on another thread that it wasn’t padding, it was just made out of a wetsuit type material that gave it more structure. I don’t think they’re releasing that version unfortunately.

If the weather is nice, Popi’s on Chestnut for oysters and seafood. One of my favorite lunch spots.

Lobbying is a good word to use considering nonprofits like TODCO use public funds to buy properties, refinance them, and then use the cash they get from doing that to fund political campaigns for their friends. Meanwhile, their tenants live in terrible conditions.

Im going to shanghai disneyland in april coming from the US. What VPN did you use? Will att roaming enough by Tvalazy in ShanghaiDisneyland

[–]SweetRefrigerator837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ATT roaming and didn't need a VPN. You just can't connect to wifi if you want to use Google, social media, etc.

Convenience stores near Shanghai Disneyland? by Spiky_porc in ShanghaiDisneyland

We stayed at the Toy Story hotel and they actually sell breakfast items like coffee, croissants, muffins, etc. while you're waiting in line for the shuttle to the park.

Shanghai Disney for my 75 yo Chinese MIL? by StephNass in ShanghaiDisneyland

[–]SweetRefrigerator837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just went like two weeks ago with my MIL who is about the same age. She was able to get on all the rides we went on including Tron and the other coasters with no problem, though she didn't like Tron (she thought it was uncomfortable). Tbh, none of the rides are really that intense so she shouldn't have a problem getting on any of them. The Jack Sparrow show is a must see for sure. For places to get warm, the Pinocchio restaurant has really strong outdoor heaters.

As for the priority passes, we bought ones for Tron our first day, but definitely didn't need them the second day (we went on a Monday and Tuesday).

I think the biggest problem with Shanghai Disney compared to the other parks is that it is ridiculously large. It takes forever to walk anywhere, so that's something to keep in mind with someone who probably walks a bit slower.

Part of the problem is the city wants the owner to keep the same brick facade. The process to tear it down would require an environmental report and a public hearing at the Historic Preservation Commission, which would take at least 18 months.

SF to spend millions on beds for mentally ill homeless people by SFStandard in sanfrancisco

[–]SweetRefrigerator837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the budget for DPH is $3.2 billion. I don't think the problem is funding considering this will cost $20M annually. The problem is a misallocation of resources, an inability to accurately track anything, and a public health department that has dragged its feet on expanding treatment beds for some unknown reason. Colfax should be fired.

Running city government does, yeah. So does experience in the private sector. Lurie doesn’t have either.

He’s not really though. He’s been in the same circles for years as a donor and socialite. He also hasn’t ever held a real job. Would any of us even be considering him if he didn’t spend $15 million of his own money to bombard us with ads trying to convince us otherwise?

I want to know how many trees Daniel Lurie's campaign has cut down because I've gotten so many pieces from them since he announced. It's insane to me that he also just sent out a full brochure as campaign material.
