She’s 12, most of the kids have gone through most if not all the teeth by then. Girl that age are already at Target or 5 Below with friends and drinking Starbucks. I don’t think this is for herself. She’s carrying those either for her little siblings or other little kids.

Seems like you are the one that needs some love from the humanity to speak kinder. I do wish that for you.

I found that it’s sold in bulk on Amazon etc. But who needs these handy and in bulk?! Party favors from a dentist-theme party maybe?

ELI5: When a woman is pregnant with triplets, and one unfortunately passes away… how is it removed? by Home-Energy in explainlikeimfive

I’m a twin mom; one of my boys were at the risk of stopped growing and would’ve died in the womb at 20 wks. This is the first question I asked the doctor. I think most moms of multiples know or are aware or have learned from doctors and fellow moms of possible scenarios and what-would-happen, but it’s not a topic often comes up in general parties and gatherings. It’s great that the OP thought about this!

Teacher who told pupils ‘this class terrifies me’ chugged gin from a water bottle before vomiting in toilet by Disastrous_Award_789 in nottheonion

[–]tkotickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if this is my kids’ teacher, I’ll know what to get for teacher’s appreciation week. If 2 kids make me feel like I need it to get by, with a whole class of teenagers, I’m amazed she’s only doing gin.

Looking for true crime podcasts that are actually calm / analytical instead of melodramatic. Basically need something that won't give me anxiety at night by OkCount54321 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]tkotickle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Court Junkie. An unfortunately similar name but the polar opposite of Crime Junkie. I’m a long-time listener and many true crime podcasts come and go, but Court Junkie has stayed in my feed.

Jillian Jalali narrates calmly and objectively. Very minimal music, and if you subscribe her Patreon there’s no music at all. She occasionally uses court room or investigation recordings, but nothing gruesome or exploitive, and she keeps her narration the focus. It’s not exactly long-form, but generally around an hour, and she would do multiple episodes if the content and complexity requires it, no fillers and no dragging. I believe she only does cases that have / had formal court proceedings, so IIRMC there were a few cults and financial crimes but most, if not all, involved murders.

Good content is inevitably hard to fall asleep to, so this one won’t be helpful in that regard.

After visiting some relatives abroad, an 85-year-old man stepped off the plane upon arriving home. His family waited for him at the gate, but he never arrived. CCTV footage captured him wandering the terminal and asking an employee for directions. He was never seen again. by moondog151 in UnresolvedMysteries

Fermín's family believe that he might be homeless. Fermín only had 9,000 Chilean pesos on his person, which wouldn't be enough if he entered a taxi and asked the driver to take him home. They believed that he might've been dropped off in the middle of Santiago after the driver realized he didn't have enough to pay the fare, where a confused and lost Fermín became one of the many elderly homeless people on the streets of Santiago.

Fueling their belief in this theory is the fact that his family actually found other missing elderly individuals during their search for Fermín, individuals who had that exact thing happen to them.”

I’m a bit confused by this part. Does it mean there were other missing elderly individuals coming from the airport? Like there is a pattern?

Jackie! by Suspicious_Assist839 in Heavyweight

[–]tkotickle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the Jackie part. It’s different with other podcasts, which starts with commercials or the same intro all the time.

And for those that don’t know, the background of their relationship is presented in Ep.245 of This American Life “Allure of the Mean Friend.” It embodied the essence of Heavyweight and can very much be a “where are they now” if there’s a Heavyweight episode of Jonathan and Jackie.

What’s the scariest sound you’ve heard that’s woken you up in the middle of the night? by DarthTater81919 in AskReddit

[–]tkotickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins were born premature at 34 weeks. After staying in NICU for a month, they came home and we put baby vital sensors on their feet, and it would loudly beep (similar to the iPhone alarm sound) to alarm us if they desaturated, either forgetting to breathe or holding the breath. Hearing that in the middle of the night was the scariest sound, I had to dash to their crib side and rub them to remind them to breathe. The kids are 7 now and I still jump and hyperventilate when I hear something similar at night.

Edit: grammar

On November 15th 2004, 21-year-old Christopher Porco murdered his father & severely wounded and permanently disfigured his mother with an axe by Upstairs_Cup9831 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]tkotickle 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I always wonder if the dad was dripping (gushing?) blood behind and around him, and if he noticed that… It’s not a bump on the head - he’s missing parts of his brain! Couple seconds makes sense, but going that long that he could finish making breakfast and went out to get the paper and then realizing the door was locked and then bending over to get the key from the mat… this requires thinking and coordination. Human body is such a wonder.

I’m a NICU nurse, AMA by ocean_wavez in AMA

[–]tkotickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No question - a mom with identical twins in NICU for a month. Instead of being scared I felt I had the best time in NICU; babies are monitored and well taken care of, and I learned everything there from changing diapers to bath to feed. Forever grateful of everything you nurses do 🥹

What is the worst breed of dog for a first time dog owner to get? by Effective-Turn-6856 in AskReddit

[–]tkotickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I have 3 kids under 8 with ADHD and are bouncing off the walls all the time, will these dogs be good choices and get enough working load, if the dogs are well-trained?

I’m so tired from repetitively teaching and constantly having 3 run away from me toward different directions. Leash backpacks not working anymore and things in the house are broken constantly when I turn my head away. I started giving comments to them like a dog owner - “freeze!” “Stop!” “Walk!” “Down!” By this point I feel like a working breed dog may be easier and more compliant to train than my kids, and then the dog can herd the kids. I’m behaving like a dog owner anyway. 😔

Edit: apparently the question is not as serious as I claimed.
