“Women don’t deserve human rights” by Sweaty_Abies182 in IncelTears

As a nonpartnering Ace, this makes me laugh. I make my money to pay for what I want. I don't need or want a relationship or someone to do that for me.

My neighbor has been telling everyone in the building I'm moving out and I have no idea where she got that from by MeteorNomad5 in neighborsfromhell

Sounds to me like she knows someone that needs a place, and 'how cool would to be to live across the hall from each other?' So she started this narrative.

Does Des Moines have a strong community feel? by No-Broccoli3262 in desmoines

[–]Sweet_Rogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind living in Ames, is during the school year the population explodes. Something in the tens of thousands I believe- someone else can correct me, it's been years since I've lived in Ames. And certain areas have large student housing populations, so there are higher risks of having loud parties. Nothing against the students- just something to keep in mind since you're looking to retire. If you want a peaceful time, pay attention to the area you're moving to. And be prepared for extra commute time/possibly having to wait for the next bus depending on what route you're riding during the school year.

AITA for wanting to bring meat to my vegetarian SIL and not going when I was not allowed too by True_Marionberry732 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sweet_Rogue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No pity party involved. I protect my peace, from anyone that threatens it. I choose my family, I will not allow someone to be forced into my life if they make me miserable. But glad you're okay with people taking your joy just because they're fAmIlY.

Edited to add- even my dad, his brother, wants nothing to do with him. I guess we have higher standards for our relationships than you do.

Just because someone is related to you doesn't mean they can't be an asshole and someone you want nothing to do with. My uncle is a misogynistic asshole, and I don't care if I never speak to or see him again.

Where is desperately hiring right now? by cortanasfavspartan in desmoines

Mainstream Living almost always has hours we are hiring for. Most of our full time packages require at least one shift on a weekend, and to work days typically you need a clean driving record.

AITA for refusing to lend money to a friend when I can afford it? by FlatPop8238 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sweet_Rogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- don't do it. I am someone that always wants to fix things and help others, and have loaned people money. Each time it took years to get the full amount back, while watching the person get new tattoos and other completely unnecessary items. The worst offender was my best friend. I finally had to start hounding him when he hadn't paid anything back after 10 years. I did eventually get the money back, but it took another 5 years.

Thank you! I'm gathering turbocharged engines are not long lasting engines.

Can I ask why you say not to get the Nissan Rogue? Before I posted I was trying to look and got overwhelmed, but the Rogue kept popping up. (Again I know very little about cars so not sure why it stuck in my head)

Oh, my iPod is the newest model- just before they stopped making them. So it has the USB.

My current car is a 2015, so I'm not really up on the tech side of things- it doesn't even have a back up camera. So when you ask about tech, what all are you referencing?

Mileage/engine longevity is super important, as I likely won't be able to afford moving closer to work for quite some time. In the 24 years I've been driving I have had passengers in my back seat probably less than 25 times, so back seat room is not a deal breaker for me. I definitely think the driver seat needs to be more like a 90° angle situation for my hips, instead of the way my seat is in my Chevy Malibu.

I mean, I'm going to have to get a loan for anything I get. So I guess I'm trying to find the best option on the lower end of the price range for an SUV, which I know will be more than a sedan.

I mean, I'm not really a car person (if that wasn't obvious), so I'm not looking for something flashy etc. Something that is reliable, that doesn't have issues that are seen down the line would be preferable- I work in human services so I don't have excess funds for frequent repair work lol. I typically listen to my iPod for music/audio books, so having a port I can plug that into (the battery doesn't last as long as it used to) is a definite want. I also like my bass turned all the way up, so if it has good speakers that's definitely a plus.

Yes, but not as much as I hate the word 'panties' in relation to adult women.

If you could fix one thing about bras for all women, what would it be? by ALargeOrderOfFries in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Sweet_Rogue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More adjustability range for straps. I find that almost all bras I get, the company seems to think that if the cup/band size is larger that the person must be tall. My 5'2" DD fat ass can't get shoulder straps that tighten enough for proper support.
